Bet on Tennessee +7 Because…

This is the first game of the season where Tennessee has been the underdog. Don’t think for a moment that the Volunteer players aren’t going to look at the point-spread in this game. College kids are just as likely to study point-spreads as any other football fans. College kids that play football are, by nature, football fans. This is the first game where Tennessee can give football analysts an I told you so moment.

Bet on Texas A&M -7 Because…

A&M’s defense is one of the tops in the SEC. Texas A&M used to win football games by outscoring their opponents. Not this season. The A&M D is winning games for the kids in College Station. The defense allows 15.4 total points per game. That’s incredible considering that Texas A&M has faced UCLA and QB Josh Rosen, Auburn and Gus Mahlzan’s offense, and Arkansas’ offense, which averages 36 points per game.

Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction

Tennessee may come out with more fire this week than they have at any other time during the season. I’m not sure if it’s going to matter. I thought that the Vols were one of the most over hyped teams going into the 2016 College Football Season.

They haven’t done anything to change my mind regarding that. Tennessee’s defense has given up 28 points to Florida and 31 points to Georgia in the Vols’ last 2 games. The Tennessee D doesn’t appear capable of playing with the type of discipline needed to hold Texas A&M to less than 24 points.

With all of that being written, I can’t get myself to give up 7 points to Tennessee. I just can’t. Although I believe that the Volunteers finally lose, I don’t see them losing by more than 3 points in this game.

Tennessee never quits. 7 points are too many to give to a team that will never, ever, throw in the towel.

My final score prediction is Texas A&M 24, Tennessee 22.
