Bet The Texas Tech Red Raiders at +15 because…

The Red Raiders can score the ball consistently on anyone!

The Red Raiders have won two consecutive games and beat Kansas 30-20 on Saturday, though they never came close to covering the spread as insane 33-point road faves.. Texas Tech quarterback Pat Mahomes II completed 30 of 51 passes for 359 yards with one touchdown and one interception while running back DeAndre Washington rushed 22 times for 152 yards and one score. The Red Raiders rolled up 576 yards of total offense and never looked back after building a 20-0 halftime lead.

Mahomes II has completed 63.8 percent of his passes this season for 2,618 yards with 20 touchdowns and six interceptions. Mahomes has nine touchdown passes in his last three games.  The Red Raiders ground game average a stellar 196.8 yards per contest (36th) with Washington leading the way with 743 yards and seven touchdowns.

Defensively, Texas Tech is allowing a whopping 36.9 points (114th) and a whopping 553.6 yards per game (123rd). Dakota Allen leads the Red Raiders with 62 tackles while Branden Jackson has recorded two sacks and J.J. Gaines, four interceptions.  The Red Raiders are ranked third in scoring (49.4 ppg) behind Big 12 rivals, Baylor and TCU.

Bet The Oklahoma Sooners at -15 Because…

They’re playing at home  – and have a gifted quarterback in Baker Mayfield!

No. 17 Oklahoma pounded the snot out of Kansas State as quarterback Baker Mayfield completed 20 of 27 passes for 23for 282 yards and five touchdowns – all the scores in the first half – to lead the dominant performance.

The Sooners scored before five minutes into the game and put two touchdowns on the board by the time the 7-minute. The resounding win gave K-State its first home shutout since 2006, a streak of 234 consecutive games.

"This is probably the most significant and major challenge that any of us have ever met," Wildcats coach Bill Snyder said.

"The tempo allows our offense to get set and get going," Mayfield said. "It makes the defense have to get lined up and play in a base defense. Texas was able to line up and give us some crazy blitzes and when we go tempo, people can’t do that."

Mayfield is completing 67.4 percent of his passes for 1,875 yards with 19 touchdowns and three interceptions. The gifted young signal-caller has thrown nine touchdown passes in his last three games. The Oklahoma Sooners rank 13th in scoring (40.0 ppg) while ranking a stellar 24th in points allowed (18.8 ppg).

Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction

I have no idea why Oklahoma is favored by a whopping 15 points in this contest, but I don’t like them to cover it against a Texas Tech team that can put points on the board like they’re going out of style!

51 percent of public bettors like Texas Tech and I’m a bit surprised that the figure isn’t even higher.

After watching Oklahoma’s loss against Texas two weeks ago, I believe the Sooners are severely overrated, making Texas Tech my pick to cover the spread while pushing the Sooners really hard for the outright win.

Three of the last four meetings between these teams have been decided by 12 points or less and I fully expect this contest to turn out the same way.

The Sooners are just 1-5 ATS in their last six games following an ATS win and a dismal 0-4 ATS in their last four home games against a team with a winning road record. Texas Tech is just 1-4 ATS in their last five road games against Oklahoma, but the Red Raiders are also 4-1 ATS in their last five games following an SU or ATS loss and a bankroll-boosting 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games overall.

The Red Raiders have scored at least 30 points in every game this season and will do so again in this matchup while covering the spread with room to spare. Texas Tech has also topped the 50-point plateau twice this season and ranks 11th nationally in forcing turnovers (17).

I am picking the Texas Tech Red Raiders as the smart bet to upset the Oklahoma Sooners. My final score prediction is Texas Tech 38, Oklahoma 35.
