Why Bet The Texas A&M Aggies To Beat The Wildcats
Texas A&M lost three of their final four regular season games and come into their bowl game showdown off an embarrassing 54-39 blowout loss against LSU in their finale.
The Aggies did put up a healthy 35.4 points per game to rank a solid 30th in scoring nationally as quarterback Trevor Knight passed for over 2,000 yards before suffering a knee injury. Backup Jake Hubenak has a bad shoulder, so right now, no one really knows who’s going to start under center.
Whoever gets the start will throw early and often to gifted wide receivers Josh Reynolds and Christian Kirk who combined for over 1,700 receiving yards. Running back Trayveon Williams led the Aggies in rushing with 1,024 yards while backup Keith Ford has added an additional 583 rushing yards.
Defensively, Texas A&M gave up 23.2 points per game to rank a very respectable 37th in points allowed.
Why Bet The Kansas State Wildcats To Beat The Aggies
Kansas State won their three final games and come into this bowl game showdown off a resounding 30-6 win over TCU in their finale.
K-State averages 31.9 points per game to rank 48th nationally in scoring despite the fact that quarterback Jesse Ertz passed for less than 1,600 yards while completing just 56.6 percent of his passes.
Wide receivers Byron Pringle, Dominique Heath and Deante Burton combined for 1,300 receiving yards while Ertz rushed for a team-high 945 yards with running back Charles Jones chipping in an additional 577 rushing yards.
The Wildcats were even better defensively in limiting the opposition to just 20.6 points per game defensively to rank 19th nationally in points allowed.
AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl ATS Pick & Final Score Prediction
57 percent like of public bettors like Texas A&M to get the win and ATS cover, but I certainly don’t after seeing the Aggies struggle mightily down the stretch and conversely watching K-State get their act together over the final month.
Texas A&M has gone 0-5 ATS over their last five games while Kansas State has gone 4-1 ATS in their last five games against the Aggies.
The Aggies have more overall talent, but the Wildcats have better focus and the better head coach. I’m going with the Wildcats for the big upset.
