Ranked in the top 20 for the first time in school history the UCF Knights come in to this game as the 18 th best team in the Nation, they have a stellar defense that will look to slow down a very fast pace Rutgers offense. The Scarlet Knights are not having their best season but have the ability at any moment to really explode and run up a score.
Rutgers has had its share of issues this season, dealing with their basketball coach’s media issues and athletic department’s president also fired, as well as injuries to key players that has slowed them down, they are currently a .500 team that looks to go out strong with their final 3 games so I cannot expect anything less than their best. I think they will not waste too much time developing their running game in this one given the success they have recently found in the passing attack.
UCF commands a powerful running game that jump starts their entire offense, they have the ability to play pass option with the back on the field, they set it up in a way that the back field gets the first block then spreads out 7 to 10 yards for the quick outlet pass, seems to work very well for this offense. It will still need a defensive stand in the secondary to really push Rutgers back on their heels.
What to Expect:
I think both teams will move the ball well, but UCF in the end will get the stops they need to capitalize on offense, turnovers will be huge in this one and I see them really going after each other’s QB´s almost out of desperation to make that game changing play and regain momentum if lost.
