Bet The UCLA Bruins at -4 Because…

UCLA bounced back from their opening game loss to Texas A&M to beat the UNLV Rebels, 42-21 on Saturday despite never coming close to covering the spread as a whopping 27-point home favorite.

Quarterback Josh Rosen completed 23 of 38 passes for 267 yards and one touchdown while running back Soso Jamabo rushed 11 times for 90 yards and three scores. UCLA is averaging a solid 33.0 points per game but is also allowing 26.0 points and 385.0 total yards per game.

Bet The BYU Cougars at +4 Because…

BYU opened up with a win against Arizona two weeks ago but were on the wrong end of a heartbreaking 20-19 loss against the Utah Utes on Saturday.

The Cougars had a chance to win with 18 seconds remaining when quarterback Taysom Hill scored on a 7-yard touchdown run to pull the Cougars within one point.  Un fortunately, BYU failed in is attempt to get the win on a two-point conversion try. Hill completed 21 of 39 passes for 176 yards, but tossed a costly three touchdowns in the loss.

Offensively, BYU is averaging a minuscule 18.5 points per game but it also limiting their opponents to 18.0 points per game defensively.

Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction

Percent of the betting public likes UCLA to get the win and ATS cover and so do I. BYU is struggling to score the ball in the worst way this season, basically nullifying their stellar 4-0 ATS mark in their last four home games and 5-1 ATS in their last six games in the month of September.

I know the Bruins are a winless 0-4 ATS in their last four non-conference games, but the Bruins have the big edge in overall roster talent.

While I’m certainly not expecting UCLA to contend for a playoff berth or the Pac-12 title for that matter, the Bruins are the easy pick to win and cash in against the Cougars in this Week 3 matchup!

My Pick: UCLA 27 BYU 20
