No. 23 Utah Utes (3-0) at Arizona Wildcats (2-1)

Why Bet the Utah Utes Spread at -3.5
The Utes improved to 3-0 on the season after defeating the San Jose State Spartans 54-16 on Saturday to cover the spread as a 27.5-point home favorite as quarterback Tyler Huntley completed 30 of 43 passes for 341 yards with four touchdowns and one interception while running backs Zach Moss and Devonta’e Henry-Cole added rushing scores in the win. Utah also forced an impressive five turnovers in the win while limiting the Spartans to just 30 rushing yards. Still, head coach Kyle Whittingham says he’s wary of Arizona’s rushing attack heading into their Week 4 matchup against the Wildcats despite snapping a four-game losing streak by beating Arizona 36-23 last season.
"They run the zone read as well as anyone in the country," Whittingham said of the Wildcats. "They have a quarterback that is an exceptional runner. That is exactly what they look for in their quarterback, the ability to be a dual threat. We have struggled with them. The games we lost, we did not do a good job defending the run. So, that is going to be job No. 1 this week like it is every week."
For the season, Huntley has completed a scorching 72.1 percent of his passes with five TD passes and just one interception. Defensively, the Utes are holding their opponents to an average of 15.0 points and 246.0 total yards per game.
Why Bet the Arizona Wildcats Spread at +3.5
The Arizona Wildcats improved to 2-1 on the season by beating UTEP 63-16 in Week 3 to cash in as a 25-point road favorite. Arizona jumped out to a 35-9 halftime lead and never looked back as quarterback Brandon Dawkins completed 18 of 21 passes for 155 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for an additional 143 yards and three more scores after largely struggling in Arizona’s 19-16 Week 2 loss to Houston.
"He probably heard a lot of the stuff last week," Wildcats head coach Rich Rodriguez said. "He’s more competitive than he lets on, because he has a happy-go-lucky type of personality. … During the whole week, during the warmups and even during the game he had kind of a focus like, ‘I’m going to prove myself all over again.’"
Running back Nathan Tilford rushed eight times for 38 yards and two touchdowns and the Wildcats defense forced two turnovers in the win. Defensively, the Wildcats are allowing 19.7 points and 387.7 total yards per game.
Utah Vs Arizona ATS Pick
While I like Arizona quarterback Brandon Dawkins, there’s a reason why a whopping 71 percent of public bettors are already backing the Utah Utes to get t done on the road in this Week 4 Pac-12 opener and it’s because Utah is the far better defensive team in this matchup and has the better head coach if you ask me.
The Utes are a perfect 4-0 ATS in their last four road games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall while Arizona has struggled mightily in going 7-15 ATS in their last 22 home games and 1-7 ATS in their last eight games against their Pac-12 rivals. While the underdog in this rivalry is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings and Utah is just 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings, the Utes are the pick to get the narrow road win and ATS cover.
Pick: Utah -3.5
