Why Bet the Virginia Cavaliers Odds at +13

Virginia is coming off a big win in Week 3 after pounding UConn 38-18 as quarterback Kurt Benkert completed 30-of-40 passes for 455 yards with three touchdowns and one interception while running back Jordan Ellis rushed for a team-high 95 yards and one score on 20 carries.

For the season, Benkert is completing an impressive 66.2 percent of his passes for 976 yards with seven touchdowns and just one interception while Ellis has rushed for 219 yards and three scores on 54 carries. Benkert is third in the ACC in passing yards and touchdowns and his 32 completions per game rank third in the nation and first in the ACC. Defensively, Virginia is giving up 20.7 points and 330.7 yards per game. Of the Friday night game, senior receiver Andre Levrone said, “It’s a quick turnaround. Being on the field again with some contact and stuff that quick, it can be tough, but coaches have put a good plan in place.”

Why Bet the Boise State Broncos Odds at -13

Boise State beat New Mexico 28-14 in Week 3 as quarterback Montell Cozart completed 15-of-19 passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for a team-high 71 yards and another score in nine carries. Wide receiver Cedrick Wilson hauled in three passes for 64 yards while fellow wideout Jake Roh caught both of Cozart’s TD passes. Outside of Cozart’s team-high rushing yards, the Broncos ran for just 62 total yards.

“We did not run the ball very well. We had our opportunities,” head coach Bryan Harsin said. “We need to be more physical. Every single guy, all 11 guys, quarterbacks are included in this … we all need to do a much better job.”

How To Bet Virginia Vs Boise State

Boise State may be playing at home in this matchup, but I’m not really impressed with the Broncos which is why I’m going to advise you to go with the 56 percent of public bettors that already like the Cavaliers to cover the spread as nearly two-touchdown road dogs.

Virginia has gone 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine games following an ATS win while Boise State is just 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games following a straight-up win, a discouraging 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games overall and just 2-7 ATS in their nine games against a team with a winning record. Simply put, I like Virginia to cover a college football betting line that should be closer to seven points than two touchdowns.

Pick: Virginia +13
