If you’re a college football betting aficionado that likes cashing in on underdog teams that offer potentially huge returns, then you’re in luck. Here are my week 1 NCAAF betting upset predictions.
You now have an outstanding chance to cash in on a handful of wagers that others may have listed as locks for the college football betting favorite, but are a value bet when you take the high betting spread into the equation.

Remember it’s always a smart NCAAF bet to take the underdog early in the season before the high octane teams can gel.
My Week 1 NCAAF Betting Upset Predictions
Penn State +2 at Central Florida
Central Florida lost starting quarterback Blake Bortles while Penn State gained a widely-respected head coach in former Vanderbilt leader James Franklin. I like the Nittany Lions to take down the ‘hot name’ Knights who almost certainly won’t be as good as they were in going 12-1 last season.

Virginia +21 at Home Against No. 7 UCLA
The Cavaliers were absolutely abysmal a year ago, but they’re getting three touchdowns against a UCLA team I believe is way overrated at this point in time. Besides, the Cavaliers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games in the month of August.
Rice +20.5 at No. 17 Notre Dame
Once again, the Fighting Irish are overrated and they’re going to face a very good Rice program that had a fantastic 2013 season. With the Owls going 7-2 ATS in their last nine games against non-conference opponents, I like Rice to cover with room to spare.

Fresno State +21 at No. 15 USC
Sure, the USC Trojans have the ‘big name’ and national ranking in this matchup, but it is the Fresno State Bulldogs that I expect to cover the spread in this 2014 opener. The Bulldogs are 13-6 ATS in their L/19 road games while USC has gone 2-7 ATS in its L/5 games against non-conference opponents.
Oklahoma State +17.5 at home against No.1 Florida State
I know the top-ranked Seminoles are the defending national champs, but hey, Oklahoma State is not exactly chopped liver if you know what I mean. The Seminoles are just 1-4 ATS in their L/5 games in the month of August while Oklahoma State has gone 6-2 ATS in their last eight games overall.

The Seminoles will win this contest, but I expect it to be a lot closer than the spread indicates it could be.
Temple +13.5 at Vanderbilt
The Owls may be coming off a dismal 210 campaign, but they also went 8-4 ATS a year ago while covering the spread in each of their last four games, while also posting an incendiary 7-1 ATS mark over their L/8 games.
And those were my week 1 NCAAF betting upset predictions. Happy betting sports fans.
