Week 13 College Football Upset Picks

There is something extra special about winning big money on betting on the underdog. This past week, ten of the top 11 teams in the College Football Playoff rankings — the exception being No. 5 Louisville. That made it a tough week for underdogs, but this week has a few gems that the underdogs will take advantage of. Keep reading for my Week 13 college football upset picks.

Week 13 College Football Upset Picks

College Football Week 13 has some great games to choose from for upset picks. How will Nebraska handle things as a dog against rival Iowa on Friday? Does Auburn have any shot versus rival Alabama in the Iron Bowl? What’s going to happen when ranked Florida battles ranked Florida State?

#17 Nebraska at Iowa
When:  Friday, Nov. 25 at 2:30 pm ET
Where: Kinnick Stadium, Iowa City, IA
TV: ABC
Odds: Nebraska +3

Analysis: There was a 2-week stretch this season where the Nebraska Cornhuskers looked like they were going to fall away into a losing season. Nebraska couldn’t beat Wisconsin on the road losing 17 to 23 in overtime on Oct. 29. Then, on Nov. 5, Ohio State destroyed the Cornhuskers 62 to 3.

It sure looked like Nebraska was going to fall out of the Top 25 and into a lesser bowl game. Then, the Cornhuskers picked it up. They beat Minnesota 24-17. They took down Maryland 28 to 7.

Nebraska is a good team. If they beat Iowa, they could make it to a New Year’s Day Bowl Game. I think that’s all the motivation Cornhusker coach Mike Riley needs to get his guys to step it up this Friday.

Week 13 College Football Upset Pick: Nebraska
#16 Auburn at #1 Alabama
When:  Saturday, Nov. 26 at 3:30pm ET
Where: Bryant-Denny Stadium, Tuscaloosa, AL
TV: CBS
Odds: Auburn +18

Analysis: Auburn heads to Tuscaloosa to battle Alabama in the 2016 Iron Bowl. This season, it’s been no contest. There was a point a couple of weeks ago, where it looked like Auburn might sneak into the CFP. That’s not the case anymore. The loss to Georgia ruined Auburn’s chances.

But the Tigers could put a loss onto Alabama’s unblemished record. The Crimson Tide has been the best team in college football this season. Not only is Alabama undefeated at 11-0 but the Tide is also 8-3 against the spread.

Does Auburn have any shot of keeping this one close?  I think that the Tigers have a great shot of keeping it close. The Iron Bowl is always, without fail, a tough game for both teams. Alabama is the much better team but Auburn is going to play harder than they have all season long.

Alabama should win. I just don’t think that they’ll win by 18 points or more.

Week 13 College Football Upset Pick: Auburn +18
#13 Florida at #15 Florida State
When:  Saturday, Nov. 26 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: Doak Campbell Stadium, Tallahassee, FL
TV: ABC
Odds: Florida +7.5

Analysis: Florida State has a great offense. Freshman quarterback Deondre Francois has been brilliant at times. But the Seminoles haven’t faced a defense quite as good as Florida’s yet this season.
I just don’t believe that FSU is good enough to beat Florida by 8 points. To me, the Gators are the team to watch out for in this matchup. Florida found a way to score points against LSU’s defense this past Saturday.

FSU’s defense isn’t bad. But it’s not as good as LSU’s. It’s hard to see Francois having a ton of success against the Gators’ D. I like Florida.

Week 13 College Football Upset Pick: Florida +7.5
