College Football Week 14 Lock PicksJosh Bailey
College Football Week 14 is when the various conference championship games take place. That is the last shot for some teams to make a case for a Bowl Game or a berth in the College Football Playoff. This week I have a trio of college football Week 14 lock picks that you can cash in big on. Happy hunting!
Week 14 Lock Picks
Can Western Michigan cover a huge spread against Ohio? Will Washington cover versus Pac-12 South winner Colorado? What’s going to happen in the SEC Championship when Alabama battles Florida?
#13 Western Michigan vs Ohio
When: Friday, Dec. 2 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: Ford Field, Detroit, MI
TV: ESPN 2
Odds: Western Michigan -19
Analysis: Western Michigan has climbed all the way to 13 in the AP Poll. That’s incredible considering that the Broncos are a Football Championship Series team. With a win, Western Michigan might get into a New Year’s Day Bowl Game where they’ll take on a top Big 5 Conference squad.
It’s hard to see the Broncos letting such a huge opportunity slip through their fingers. This is particularly true since Western Michigan dominated Ohio 49 to 14 the last time they faced the Bobcats. Ohio is a decent team. But they don’t have a good enough offense to keep up with Western Michigan in this.
Week 14 Lock Pick: Western Michigan
#9 Colorado vs #4 Washington
When: Friday, Dec. 2 at 9:00 pm ET
Where: Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara, CA
Odds: Washington -7.5
Analysis: No team is happier going into their championship game than the Washington Huskies. First, Washington took care of business this past Saturday by destroying Washington State 45-17 as a -6 road favorite. Second, because Colorado beat Utah 27 to 22 in their final regular season game, the Huskies battle the Buffalos in the Pac-12 Championship. They don’t have to take on the USC Trojans.
Washington’s only loss this season was to USC. The Huskies haven’t faced Colorado since 2014. Still, the prospect of Washington taking on USC was dreadful. They should have no trouble handling the Buffalos, a good but not great team, on Dec. 2.
Week 14 Lock Pick: Washington
#1 Alabama vs #15 Florida
When: Saturday, Dec. 3 at 4:00 pm ET
Where: Georgia Dome, Atlanta, GA
Odds: Alabama -22.5
Analysis: The Alabama Crimson Tide are undefeated. Their spot in the College Football Playoff is all but assured. Even if they lose to Florida, it looks like Alabama should still be in the CFP.
But, let’s be honest, Alabama won’t lose to Florida. The Crimson Tide is the best team in all of college football. Florida had a great season by winning the SEC East. Nobody expects the Gators to beat Alabama.
This Alabama team is one of the most impressive I’ve ever seen. They should beat Florida by at least 25 points on Dec. 3.
