Week 4 CFB Betting – Utah at Michigan Preview

Utah (2-0 SU, 2-0 ATS) is coming off an emphatic 59-27 win over Fresno State in Week 3 while covering the spread as a 13-point home fave to remain unbeaten against the spread.

The Utes got a stellar outing from junior quarterback Travis Wilson as he completed 11 of 20 passes for 181 yards with a whopping five touchdowns. Utah also rushed for a whopping 258 yards in the win while scoring 56 or more for the second straight game.

"I just need to keep on playing how I’ve been playing, "Wilson said. Take easy throws, make smart decisions with it."

Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham said winning the turnover battle is crucial in this contest.

"Turnover battle is huge every week," Whittingham said. "Right now on the season we’re even in the turnover margin. We’re doing a very good job offensively taking care of the football. We’re doing a very average job, at best, of taking the ball away. My guess is whoever wins the turnover margin will win this game – that’s how important this is."

Michigan (2-1 SU, 1-2 ATS) is coming off a commanding 34-10 win over Miami-Ohio but failed to cover the college football betting line as a 31-point home favorite.

Senior quarterback Devin Gardner completed 13 of 20 passes for 184 yards with two touchdowns and one interception while sophomore running back Derrick Green added 137 rushing yards and two additional scores on 22 carries.

"It looks like he (Gardner) understands the system," Utah defensive coordinator Brian Blechen said. "He doesn’t try to do too much. But when he has to, he’s a great athlete, he’s got a strong arm. He’s got good receivers around him and a big O-line. He can get you on the ground or in the air."

Week 4 CFB Betting Odd Analysis:

I really like the Utah Utes to cover the spread in this Week 4 matchup – by getting the outright road win against a Wolverines team I have lost all confidence in.

The Utah Utes are 4-0 ATS in their last four games against Big Ten teams and an impressive 35-17-2 ATS in their last 54 non-conference games.

The Michigan Wolverines are 2-5 ATS in their L/7 games against a team with a winning record and just 1-5 ATS in their last half-dozen non-conference games.

Utah’s offense is far too explosive for them to lose this contest.

My Week 4 CFB Betting Pick: Utah +4.5 Points
