Week 4 of college football betting is upon us and here are my top three betting picks that you can use to cash in big this week.
College Football Week 4 Picks
Last week of college football was full of surprises, but I have a few under the radar betting picks that can win you some big cash this week. Will Pittsburgh bounce back from a Week 3 loss versus North Carolina this Saturday? How will ASU respond after escaping with a win versus Texas San Antonio in Week 3 against Cal? Is Washington’s defense for real?
Pittsburgh at North Carolina
When: Saturday, Sept. 25 at 3:30 pm ET
Where: Kenan Stadium, Chapel Hill, NC
TV: ESPN U
Odds: North Carolina -7.5
Analysis: 2 and 1 Pittsburgh had a big lead over Oklahoma State in Stillwater before losing 45 to 38. Things don’t get any easier for the Panthers in Week 4. They take on North Carolina on the road as a -7.5-point favorite. The big trend regarding Pitt is that they are 0-3 ATS so far this season. The defense hasn’t been nearly as formidable as it was in 2015.
North Carolina is now 2 and 1 after almost beating Georgia in Week 1. The Tar Heels should bow out Pittsburgh in this game. North Carolina’s offense averages 36 points and close to 407 yards per game. I don’t see how Pittsburgh keeps is close.
Pick: North Carolina -7.5
California at Arizona State
When: Saturday, Sept. 17 at 10:00 pm ET
Where: Sun Devil Stadium, Tempe, AZ
TV: ESPN 2
Odds: ASU -6.5
Analysis: California was absolutely brilliant when upsetting Texas at home this past Saturday night as a +7.5 home dog. QB David Webb is some football player. California should have no trouble taking down ASU on Saturday right? They should at least keep it close?
Not so fast, Cal fans. ASU did struggle to beat Texas San-Antonio 32 to 28 as a -21.5 road favorite. The thing to remember is that ASU did win the game. Another thing to remember is that ASU rushed for 205 yards on the ground.
What did Cal yield to Texas on the ground in their Saturday night win? How about 307 yards? How about allowing a 6.0 per rush average to the Longhorns?
ASU’s rushing attack, behind the 6’ 3”, 230 pounds, Kalen Ballage, is better than Texas’s. I think that ASU controls this game from the outset. California will score, but ASU will score enough to cover the spread.
Pick: Arizona State -6.5
#9 Washington at Arizona
When: Saturday, Sept. 25 at 10:30 pm ET
Where: Arizona Stadium, Tucson, AZ
Analysis: I can’t find a line for this game. There’s probably a good reason for that. Arizona yielded touchdown after touchdown in the second half to the Hawaii Warriors this past Saturday night. The Wildcats’ defense is a disgrace.
Washington’s defense is one of the best in the nation. In fact, I have to make the Huskies the favorites to win the Pac-12, yes, even over Stanford, at this point, do that incredible defense. I think that Washington dominates Arizona from the outset in this game.
The Huskies are yielding 269 yards and 10 points per game.
