This Will Be One To Remember In WashingtonTheDuck
(2) Oregon Ducks vs. (16) Washington Huskies
4:00 PM ET, October 12, 2013
Husky Stadium, SEATTLE, WA
Coverage: FOX Sports 1
The Ducks will be surprised to see a defense that can finally pick up on their inside running game and possibly slow them down, not to say that the Huskies have a chance to stop them completely but they have a great front seven that require a certain adaptation. The Ducks are accustomed to putting up these crazy numbers, but this game will actually make them change their game to a little more conservative as Washington thrives on their defense. The Huskies will look to get out to a fast start and play a very physical game; the Ducks are down on size in this one but shouldn’t run away with this game.
Oregon still unbeaten remains at the #2 overall spot in the country; they have a verity of weapons on offense that they like to implement to change things up. QB Marcus Mariota has one of the best arms in college football, hitting 76 of his 134 passes for 1358 yards and 14 touchdowns, he also loves the trick plays and tries to get at least one in every game. Both their running game as well as the receiving game share 440+ yards and 4 touchdowns a piece.
Washington is a spot away from being a top 15 team and with a win here they could consider a top 10 almost garneted, they have stepped up their defense allowing only 14.8 points a game ranking them 11th overall while they look to exploit their opponents run defense with Bishop Sankey who is the leader on this team and co-captain, he has carried the ball 131 times so far to lead all backs in the country, he has 732 yards with 7 touchdowns and if the Huskies want to stay in this game he will have to bring his best.
What to Expect:
The Ducks are -14.5 coming into this game knowing that defensively they will be pushed around, I still have to go with the Ducks because of everything Mariota can do and he is one of the more versatile QB’s with his running game, throwing attack and quick reaction time in the pocket and under pressure. I see Oregon taking this game late in the second half but in my opinion I would suggest to buy the hook, you never know…
