Analyzing My My Winning College Bowl Upset Picks

Outback Bowl
No. 17 Wisconsin Badgers vs No. 19 Auburn Tigers
Date: Jan. 01, 2015
Start Time: 12:00 p.m. ET
Location: Tampa, Florida
Stadium: Raymond James Stadium
TV Info: ESPN
Stream Info: WatchESPN.com
Radio:  Wisconsin Vs  Auburn
Point Spread: Tigers -5.5
Game Total: 61

Both of the teams in the 2015 Outback Bowl have more than their fair share of issues, making this one of the more interesting bowl game matchups on this year’s schedule.

Auburn lost three of its final four games to close out the regular season, including a 55-44 pounding at the hands of Alabama on Nov. 29 as a 9.5-point road dog.

With the title hopeful team riding a seven-game winning streak, Wisconsin was looking good heading into its Big Ten Championship matchup against Ohio State on Saturday.

Unfortunately, the Badgers got pounded unmercifully in their stunning 59-0 shutout loss against the Buckeyes and now they’re looking for some big time redemption – and I believe they’ll get it against an Auburn team they would easily be favored against had they not put on a stinker the last time out.

Wisconsin has arguably the best running back in the nation in Melvin Gordon and a defense that finished fourth in the country overall. The Badgers should give Auburn’s Nick Marshall a tough way to go en route to the easy upset win!

Outback Bowl Upset Pick: Wisconsin +5.5

Orange Bowl
No. 12 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs No. 7 Mississippi State Bulldogs
Date: Dec. 31, 2014
Start Time: 8:00 p.m. ET
Location: Miami, Florida
Stadium: Sun Life Stadium
TV Info: ESPN
Stream Info: WatchESPN.com
Radio: Georgia Tech Vs  Mississippi Sate
Point Spread: Bulldogs -7
Game Total: 59.5

I watched both of these teams over the final few weeks of the regular season and I fully believe that the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will not only cover the spread in this matchup, but likely win outright, thanks to their stunning triple option rushing attack.

Not only did Georgia Tech nearly upset undefeated Florida State in its heartbreaking 37-35 ACC Championship game loss on Saturday but Mississippi State and gifted quarterback Dak Prescott really fell off by losing two of their final three games, albeit again very good teams in No. 1 Alabama and former top three, Mississippi.

Georgia Tech quarterback Justin Thomas and running backs Zach Laskey and Synjyn Days are all extremely dangerous runners and I believe they’re going to make Mississippi State’s 81st-ranked defense pay while leading the Yellow Jackets to the upset!

Orange Bowl Upset Pick: Georgia Tech +7
