Wisconsin got the short end of the stick in this week’s AP national rankings, seeing as how they are ranked one spot below No. 3 Ohio State despite being unbeaten while their Big Ten conference rivals have one loss and needed a miraculous comeback to beat Penn State this past weekend.

The Badgers keeps on winning, even if it isn’t always in dominating fashion. The Badgers remained unbeaten by beating Illinois 24-10 this past weekend despite failing to cover the chalk as a huge 28.5-point road favorite. Wisconsin ranks a solid 32nd in scoring (35.0 ppg) and a stellar fifth in points allowed (12.9 ppg) under totally under-appreciated head coach Paul Chryst who has gone 29-6 in two-plus seasons at his alma mater.

The good news for Wisconsin is that they’ve won six straight road games. Not only that, but sophomore quarterback Alex Hornibrook is blossoming nicely this season, having completed 64.3 percent of his passes for 1,570 yards with 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Hornibrook has thrown at least one touchdown pass in eight straight games.

Despite having lost three straight games, Indiana has put up a great effort in their last four games. The Hoosiers lost a heartbreaker to Maryland 42-39 last weekend as a 6.5-point road favorite. In Week 8, Indiana fell to nationally-ranked Michigan State 17-9 as a 6.5-point home underdog and one week prior to that, the Hoosiers fell at home against Michigan 27-20 in overtime.

Quarterback Peyton Ramsey has been pretty good this season by completing 65.4 percent of his passes for 1,252 yards with 10 touchdowns and a modest five interceptions. The problem for the Hoosiers is that they allow (26.8 ppg, 70th) almost as many points as they average this season (27.0 ppg, 76th).

Wisconsin has been a model of consistency in alternating ATS wins and losses all season long. With the Badgers coming off an ATS loss last week against Illinois, they’re due to cover a very manageable spread against Indiana as 11-point road favorites.

The Badgers are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 road games and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS loss while Indiana has gone 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 home games, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight-up loss and a winless 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. Wisconsin wins big to cover the chalk and prove to everyone why they should be ranked ahead of Ohio State!

Pick: Wisconsin -11
