Bet on Wisconsin Because…
Wisconsin has blown 2 games this season and they both were against the 2 top teams in the Big Ten. The Badgers lost 7 to 14 to Michigan. They lost 23 to 30 to Ohio State. In both of the games, Wisconsin was on the cusp of beating both teams. The loss to Ohio State this past Saturday was particularly painful for Badger fans since Wisconsin allowed Ohio State to get back into the game.
Bet on Iowa Because…
Iowa gets Wisconsin at home. Iowa should be much tougher to beat by 4 points at home than they would be in Madison. The Hawkeyes usually play Wisconsin tough as it is. The Badgers are 3-9 ATS in the last 12 meetings between these 2 teams. Iowa has been waiting for this game all season long. The Hawkeyes should be ready for Wisconsin.
Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction
I have no doubt that Wisconsin is the better team. What worries me is the point spread. Based on stats, the Badgers should be at least -5 to -6 point favorites in this game. Wisconsin has played the much tougher schedule while Iowa has lost to North Dakota State as well as Northwestern. Neither one of those squads has a shot against the tough Badgers.
Although I’m leery of such a low point spread, I have to go with my gut. My gut tells me that Wisconsin finds it easy to score against Iowa’s defense, a unit that allowed Purdue to score 35, while the Hawkeyes have trouble getting points on the board against Wisconsin’s D.
I think the Badgers blow out Iowa on Saturday.
