NFL Preseason Week 3 Pittsburgh Vs. Philadelphia Betting Analysis
Pittsburgh (0-1 SU, 0- 1 A TS, 0-1 O/U) took a narrow 20-16 loss on the chin in their first preseason contest while failing to cover the spread as a 2.5-point road dog.
Philadelphia (0-2 SU, 0-2 ATS, 2-0 O/U) has put a ton of points on the board in each of their two preseason games so far, but they haven’t played much defense at all in falling to Chicago 34- 28 in Week 1 and New England 42-35 on Friday.
Having explained this, I’m going to urge you to back Philadelphia in this contest, mostly because they’ve got the far more explosive offense.
The Steelers finished the 2013 season ranked 12th in passing, but an awful 28th in rushing while also finishing a disappointing 21st against the run defensively. Pittsburgh didn’t look particularly solid in their Week 1 loss to the Giants, but none of their starters played much more than one series in that contest.

Philadelphia ranked ninth in passing (256.9 ypg) last season as young signal-caller Nick Foles blossomed into one of the best young quarterbacks in the league. Philly will also rely on elusive running back LeSean McCoy more in this contest than they have so far and that’s a good thing with the multifaceted running back rushing for an NFL-best 1,607 yards last season.
