Bet the 49ers Because…
While San Francisco lost to Seattle 24-13 last week after recording their first win of the season by beating the Giants 31-21 in Week 10, there’s a buzz around the 49ers now that veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is set to make his first start. Head coach Kyle Shanahan announced this week that Garoppolo, who San Francisco acquired from New England for a 2018 second round draft pick, will finally make his first start after seeing some action in last week’s loss after rookie C.J. Beathard left with a knee injury.
Garoppolo spent the first two games with San Francisco on the pine as he learned the playbook, but got on the field in the final minutes against Seattle last weekend to complete both of his two pass attempts, including one that went for a 10-yard touchdown to wide receiver Louis Murphy. The Niners are hoping that Garoppolo can help improve an offense that ranks an uninspiring 28th in scoring (17.0 ppg), although there’s nothing he can do about SF’s identical, 28th-ranked defense (25.8 ppg).
Bet the Bears Because…
The Bears have lost four straight and got smacked around like a bunch of high schoolers in their humbling 31-3 loss against red-hot Philadelphia this past weekend. Rookie quarterback Mitch Trubisky didn’t look very good in completing 17 of 33 passes with no touchdowns and two interceptions and the Bears were held to a mind-boggling six total rushing yards despite the fact that they have a gifted running back in second-year back Jordan Howard who rushed for 1,313 yards as a rookie last season.
49ers Vs Bears Betting Trends & Tips
Are you completely stunned that 55 percent of public bettors like the Bears to win and cover the chalk – even at home in this one? Trubisky is completing a pitiful 52.8 percent of his passes this season and generally looks dazed and confused if you ask me.
The 49ers have just one win and that they’re just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall, but Chicago is a winless 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games and now, the Niners have the big edge at quarterback – although no one really knows just how good Jimmy Garoppolo will be in the long run. I am betting the 49ers win outright on the arm of new starting quarterback, Jimmy G!
