Last week, the Arizona Cardinals disappointed while the Indianapolis Colts lived up to low expectations. Both teams will be without the centerpiece of their offenses this week. David Johnson will be on the sideline for up to 8 weeks thanks to a dislocated wrist. Andrew Luck has yet to return after shoulder surgery in January.

Why Bet The Arizona Cardinals To Beat The Colts
The Cardinals offensive showing against the Lions was anything but exciting. QB Carson Palmer threw for 269 yards and three interceptions and just a single TD. Worse than losing that game is losing stud rusher David Johnson. Johnson, the NFL’s touchdown leader a year ago with 20 and the league’s leading player in yards from scrimmage, represented nearly 40 percent of the Cardinals’ offense.
For the Cardinals to avoid their first 0-2 start in the Arians’ era, they will need 37-year-old Palmer to morph back to his MVP-worthy ways of 2015 to have a shot at the playoffs this season. To win this game, he just has to play error-free and let the defense take care of business.
Why Bet The Indianapolis Colts To Beat The Cardinals
One of the Colts two players is in no rush to return to the starting lineup.
QB Andrew Luck is 28 years old and is entering the prime of his career when talent meets experience. But counting this game over the last 3 years he’s played only 22 out of a possible 34 games. A shoulder injury and the delayed decision to have surgery this January to try and fix it aren’t helping things. Making things worse are possible rumors that Luck no longer is feeling love for the Colts and wants to play elsewhere.
But back to this week’s matchup against the Cardinals, Colts coach Chuck Pagano told reporters he wasn’t sure which of his two healthy quarterbacks would start, Scott Tolzien or recently acquired Jacoby Brissett, whom the Colts got in a trade a week before the season started from the New England Patriots.
“Our focus is on preparation and getting better as a football team and making the correction from last week and focus on fundamentals, technique and taking care of the football. You can’t have four takeaways, give the ball up four times, four turnovers. You can’t have it on offense.
The Colts are 27-10 ATS in their last 37 games following a straight-up loss. So, there’s that.
If You Still Can’t Decide Who To Bet On:
- Cardinals are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games in Week 2.
- Cardinals are 22-10 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.
- Colts are 11-2 ATS in their last 13 games as a home underdog.
- Colts are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games as a home underdog of 3.5-10.0.
Cardinals Vs. Colts Week 2 Betting Analysis:
The Cardinals are so much better than the Colts, even with QB Andrew Luck on the field. Without Luck this game will get ugly fast. Take the Cards to win and cover.
