ATS Betting Analysis NFL Week 17

Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints
When: Sunday, Dec. 30 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans, LA
TV: FOX
Spread: Off

ATS Analysis: Will Drew Brees suit up this week after clinching a first-round bye in yesterday’s thriller against the Steelers? No matter if Brees plays or not, New Orleans figures to cover the spread as a favorite because the Panthers will start backup Taylor Heinicke after shutting down Cam Newton for the season.

That’s not the only reason to like New Orleans ATS in this. The Saints have gone 10-5 ATS this season. Even though New Orleans is only 1-3 ATS in their last 4, they face a downtrodden Panthers squad.

Carolina is 1-6 ATS this season. They failed to make an impact in the 10-24 loss at home to Atlanta in Week 16. They won’t make much of an impact versus the Saints even if New Orleans plays their second teams on Sunday.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans
When: Sunday, Dec. 30 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: NRG Stadium, Houston, TX
TV: CBS
Spread: Houston -8.5

ATS Analysis: After losing for the second time in 3 games, the Houston Texans are in a must-win situation on Sunday. If Houston were to lose, they might sit out the playoffs. The Texans have only gone 2-3-1 ATS in their last 6. Both wins against the spread happened in 2 of their first 3 games after the bye.

Jacksonville had gone 1-3-2 ATS in their last 6 games before beating Miami 17-9 in Week 16. The Jaguars could take the win and turn it into a streak against the Texans. Houston might fold under pressure in this one. Taking the points makes sense.

Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks
When: Sunday, Dec. 30 at 4:25 pm ET
Where: CenturyLink Field, Seattle, WA
TV: FOX
Spread: Off

ATS Analysis: Once the line’s set, the Seahawks should be favored by a couple of touch downs. The Cardinals are simply the worst team in the NFL. Even if Arizona shows up with a great game, it’s hard to see the Seahawks not winning and covering.

Arizona is an awful 1-5 ATS in their last 6. The Cardinals have lost 3-17, 14-40, and 9-31 in their last 3. Zona only averages 13.4 points per. They rank 32nd in total yards, passing yards, rushing yards, points scored, and, amazingly, field goal percentage.

Even if Seattle coach Pete Carroll plays his second-team defense from start to finish, the Cards won’t cover. It doesn’t matter what the spread ends up being. Seattle ends Arizona’s miserable season with a win and cover on Dec. 30.
