It’s always tough to give up 10 points or more in this late in the NFL season (click here for Week 10 Odds & TV Schedule) but both Kansas City and San Francisco face opponents that are used to giving up a lot more than that per game and that is why both are my NFL week 9 lock picks. The Chiefs and 49ers have defenses that should shut down the anemic offenses that their opponents bring to their respective matchups in Week 9 as well.
Bet My NFL Week 9 Lock Picks
New York Jets at Kansas City Chiefs
When: Sunday, Nov.2 at 1:00 pm ET
Betting Line: Kansas City -10
Analysis: Kansas City allowed St. Louis to score the first 7 points in their Week 8 matchup with the Rams, but after that, it was all over but the shouting. The Chiefs were absolutely dominant in the second half and rolled to a 34 to 7 victory over the hapless Rams.
Now, KC faces an even worse team in the New York Jets. The Jets are not only 1 and 7 straight up but they’re also 1-6-1 against the spread. They lost 23 to 43 against Buffalo in a home game where their coach, Rex Ryan, finally pulled the trigger and benched Geno Smith in favor of Michael Vick.

Vick doesn’t even look like he wants to play football any more. Kansas City should dominate the Jets from the outset because even though the Jets’ defense is good enough to hold teams to an average of 85 yards per game on the ground, it’s giving up 28.5 points per game while the Jets’ offense is only scoring 18 points on average per contest.
KC only allows teams to rush for 112.9 yards per game against it and it has one of the best pass rushes in the game. If the Jets find themselves behind, which has often been the case this season, the Chiefs’ pass rushers will tee off on Vick. KC’s going to roll in this game.
NFL Week 9 Lock Pick: Kansas City Chiefs -10
St. Louis Rams at San Francisco 49ers
When: Sunday, Nov.2 at 4:05 pm ET
Betting Line: San Francisco -10
Analysis: The Rams are 1 and 3 against the spread in their last 4 games. Their only ATS victory was in the 28 to 26 straight up victory over the Seahawks two games ago. In that contest, the ‘Hawks out gained the Rams 463 yards to 275. By no means did St. Louis dominate Seattle.
St. Louis’s issues were exposed in Week 8 when the Chiefs obliterated the Rams in the second half of that game. San Francisco already knows how to dominate the Rams. They did it a few weeks ago in a 31 to 17 beat down where Colin Kaepernick destroyed the Rams’ pass defense for 3 touchdown passes and 343 yards. Not much has changed. So, there is no reason to believe that St. Louis is going to be able to stick with the 49’ers on the road this Sunday.

The 49’ers are simply the better team and the St. Louis Rams are 17 and 38 ATS in their last 55 road games versus a team with a winning home record while the 49’ers are 25-8-3 against the spread in their last 36 games following an ATS loss.
