Bet NY Jets Vs Miami DolphinsNoah Williams
This Week 9 AFC East Divisional rivalry between a pair of mediocre teams halfway through the NFL season has the Miami Dolphins less than a touchdown favorite hosting the NY Jets. Maybe the stadium can bring some life to these soft teams as this is being played at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida at 1 PM et on Sunday, November 6th.
This is a game when making an NFL Football expert pick you definitely have to go past just the straight up or against the spread trends where they are the same for each team, respectively. The NY Jets are 3-5 both SU and ATS and Miami Dolphins are an equally unspectacular 3-4 straight and ATS.
Bet NY Jets Vs Miami Dolphins
Miami Dolphins opened up as a 4-point favorite by the NFL wagering spread with the total for over and under betting was 45. The public is split on this game as other tracking sites are right around 50-50, with the Jets getting the most play at some books. The inconsistent play of both teams contributes to that. The wiseguys are also mostly split on this game, though early sharp money pushed this from the opening line of Miami -3 to -4 at several books before we’ve seen buyback on the Jets.

Bet on New York +3.5 Because…
The Jets have been consistently shutting down opponents rushing games which is where Miami has been buttering their Dolphins the past couple of weeks. The number 1 NFL defense against the run has only allowed an average of 74.0 yards per game and shutting down new sensation Jay Ajayi from Miami is their best bet for a win.
On offense, New York has most success when they go heavy on Matt Forte as they have the last 2 weeks, and the Dolphins rank 3rd to last in rush defense allowing 135.6 yards on ground. Forte’s rushing can open up the pass enough to take advantage of WR Brandon Marshall’s abilities and the fast rising WR Quincy Enunwa. Also, against the spread the NY Jets are 7-2-1 in last 10 vs. AFC East opponents.
Bet on Miami -3.5 Because…
Jay Ajayi has become a possible superstar rushing for 2 games consecutively over 200 yards joining a handful of such notorious names as OJ Simpson and may be able to bust through that rush defense.
The NY Jets have had major trouble rushing the passer this year and they struggle dealing with speed wide receivers like Jarvis Landry. QB Ryan Tannehill looks like he will be an NFL team backup next year unless Jarvis Landry can save him this year which could happen here. The Jets are dead last in passing defense allowing nearly 290.0 yards passing per game.
Early action on NFL betting doesn’t surprise me as this line has gone to Miami being favored by 3.5 points and heading towards 3 while the over under total is trending down to 44.0 due to lack of offensive confidence in either team.
I understand the NFL betting public taking the NY Jets and the points against a slack team like the Miami Dolphins are this year. Truthfully, I may take Miami if New York was giving points with these two average teams, but we don’t have to figure that out.
I can understand jumping on the Jay Ajayi bandwagon in betting NFL fantasy football, but I think we will see the real awakening here against a tough Jets rush defense. When the Dolphins have to rely on Ryan Tannehill to do anything, I don’t see that going well at all.
