Sneaky good spot for Sammy Watkins in Week 1. Foot is quietly fine, Ravens quietly very shaky in secondary: https://t.co/OmzSQJwHBj

Bet The Buffalo Bills +3 Because…
The Buffalo Bills are hoping to reach the postseason in 2016 after underachieving in a big way in head coach Rex Ryan’s first season a year ago. The bad news is that Buffalo didn’t look particularly good in going 1-3 in the preseason.
Buffalo finished 2015 ranked a solid 12th in scoring (23.6 ppg) and have quarterback Tyrod Taylor back under center following his solid first season as a starter a year ago.
Veteran running back LeSean McCoy is back and fully healthy and he’s joined in the backfield by fellow vet Reggie Bush. Taylor has a so-so group of wide receivers that includes Sammy Watkins, Robert Woods, and Marquise Goodwin.
Defensively the Bills ranked a modest 15th in points allowed last season (22.4 ppg) and added two players in the NFL Draft that will play right away in defensive end Shaq Lawson and linebacker Reggie Ragland.
Bet The Baltimore Ravens at -3 Because…
Baltimore may be coming off a dismal 5-win season a year ago as they battled a rash of injuries, but Baltimore went 4-0 in the preseason and is poised to be a lot better in 2016 than most people think after finishing 25th in scoring a year ago (20.5 ppg).
Veteran quarterback Joe Flacco is healthy and he’ll be handing off to running back Justin Forsett early and often this coming season. Flacco will throw the ball to receivers Mike Wallace, Kamar Aiken and Breshard Perriman but overall, the Ravens’ wideout unit looks underwhelming right now.
Defensively, Baltimore finished an atypical 24th in points allowed (25.1 ppg) but added veteran Pro Bowl safety Eric Weddle to a defense that already includes standout players in
Defensive backs Jimmy Smith and Lardarius Webb and linebackers C.J. Mosely, Elvis Dumervil and Terrell Suggs.
Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction
While I like Baltimore to get the narrow SU win at home, I think the best pick for this Week 1 regular season opener is to play the Over 43.5 total points. Baltimore is 4-1 ATS in their last five games against their AFC conference rivals, but just 1-9-1 ATS in their last 11 home games.
While Buffalo has gone 4-1-1 ATS in their last five games against teams from the AFC, the Bills are also just 0-3-1 ATS in their last four road games.
Three of Buffalo’s last five games have played over this game’s O/U total while two of Baltimore’s last five have topped this game total. I’m going wit the Ravens for the narrow home win, while the Over plays out first and foremost.
