Bet The Carolina Panthers at -4 In Super Bowl 50 Because…
Carolina has Cam Newton. Cam Newton is everyone’s pick to be the MVP this season. He absolutely dominated inside the red zone with 34 touchdowns. For all of Newton’s heroics, 35 passing TDs during the regular season, over 600 yards rushing and 10 rushing TDs, Newton’s greatest strength is his leadership abilities. It was widely reported that during half time of Carolina’s 49 to 15 win over Arizona that Newton gave the halftime speech, not Coach Ron Rivera. Newton is a true general on the football field.
Bet The Denver Broncos at +4 In Super Bowl 50 Because…
Denver has the defense to stop Cam Newton. Newton presents more issues for Denver’s D than any quarterback the Broncos have faced this season. He’s an absolute one of a kind player. But, Denver has the safeties, T.J. Ward and Darian Stewart, both of which should play on Feb. 7, and the edge rushers in Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware, to contain Newton. As opposed to other defenses that Newton has faced, the Broncos can rush the QB with its front 4. Miller and Ware are good enough to keep Cam in the pocket, meaning that he’ll have to run up the middle and face not only Ward and Stewart, Ward should be marking him, but also the Broncos’ linebackers.
My Super Bowl 50 Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction
The one stat that keeps jumping out to me is 170. That’s the number of rushing yards that the Broncos ran for in 3 out of their last 7 regular season games. Denver’s rushing game is going to be the key in Super Bowl 50.
Although Carolina has a very good defense, it usually plays with the lead. Carolina’s offense is so efficient, it can strike so quickly with so few plays that the only way to beat the Panthers is to control the clock. Denver will have to rush the football against Carolina’s defense in order to have any success in this matchup. I believe that the Denver coaches and QB Peyton Manning understand that.
I expect Denver to spend a lot of time containing Cam as opposed to going after him. The Broncos are good enough in the secondary to guard Carolina’s wide receivers and excellent tight-end Greg Olsen one on one if need be. Denver’s secondary is close to deadly if it can go into a zone. If the Broncos defense can do that, contain Cam, and if Peyton can get the running game going on the offensive end, Denver can pull off a 1990 Giants over Buffalo Bills type upset. I’m backing Denver’s D to come out on top in its battle against Superman.
My final score prediction is Denver 23, Carolina 21.
