Why Bet Carolina
While the Carolina Panthers won their week 1 game against the Cowboys, it was an UGLY win by any standards. The bright spot for the Panthers was their defense that held Dallas to one score.
The Panthers have more good news going into this Week 2 game. The Falcons lost defensive playmakers Deion Jones and Keanu Neal to IR. That’s a big deal in a matchup where Christian McCaffery will be featured heavily in the passing game that will be without TE Greg Olsen.
Why Bet Atlanta
Atlanta also lost an ugly game in their first outing of the season, losing to the defending champion Eagles 18-12. While unexpected, it was the season opener and some rust is expected. Which Falcons team will show up this week?
Atlanta’s Julio Jones is arguably the NFL’s purest playmaker at his position and the Falcons will need a big game from him this week. He has averaged 137.3 receiving yards per game in six meetings with Carolina since the start of 2015.
The biggest question mark for the Falcons is their red zone offense after they managed just nine points on those five red zone trips last week.
The Falcons are 8-2 both straight up and against the spread at home against Carolina since the start of the 2008 season.
Carolina vs Atlanta Betting Predictions
Nine of the past 10 meetings have stayed Under. So definitely bet the under.
The Panthers at +6 is a sucker bet. What other playmakers do they have behind Cam Newton and Christian McCaffery? Plus the Falcons have an extra three days to prepare for this game after opening the season on Sept 6th.
