Carolina Vs Denver NFL Week 1 OddsNoah Williams
The Carolina Panthers will look to extract a small measure of revenge when they visit the Denver Broncos in their Week 1 regular season opener. In February the Panthers lost the Super Bowl to the Broncos by a score of 10-24.
Despite being on the road in this Super Bowl 50 rematch, the NFL week 1 betting odds favor Carolina by a field-goal. Are Cam Newton and the Panthers the smart pick? Or should you bet on the defensive-minded, Peyton-less Broncos?

Bet The Carolina Panthers at -3 Because…
The Panthers have a chip on their collective shoulders – and Cam Newton under center.
Carolina has a massive chip on their collective shoulders as they seek some revenge for their Super Bowl 50 loss to the Broncos last season. The Panthers still have 2015 league MVP Cm Newton leading them into battle and that’s a good thing seeing s how Newton threw for 3,800 yards and 35 touchdowns last season.
While the Panthers parted ways with cornerback Josh Norman, they still have a pair of legitimate superstars in linebackers Luke Kuechly and Thomas Davis.
The Panthers finished sixth last season in total yards allowed and points allowed last season and will have No. 1 wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin back on the field after he missed all of last season with an injury.
Bet The Denver Broncos +3 Because…
Denver is playing at home – and still has an elite defense.
The Broncos will open the season as the defending Super Bowl champs, but they’re going to have a different look and feel under new starting quarterback Trevor Siemian leading them into battle instead of either Manning or former backup Brock Osweiler.
Denver went 2-2 in the preseason but got smacked around in their preseason finale, losing to Arizona 38-17 in Week 4. The good news for Broncos fans and betting backers is that Denver will still have an elite defense in 2016 behind stars, Von Miller, DeMarcus Ware and Aqib Talib after finishing fourth in the NFL last season in points allowed and first in total yards allowed. The bad news is that Siemian has absolutely zero starting experience as he enters his second year in the league.
NFL Week 1 Expert Pick
I’m going to get right to the point by saying that I fully expect Carolina to lay a huge spanking on the Broncos by pressuring the inexperienced Siemian into at least one costly turnover and likely two.
While the Panthers have gone 0-4 ATS in their last four road games, Cam Newton and company are also 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games overall.
I know the Broncos are 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 games in September, but I don’t see any way this win this game against a Panthers team that will be fired up for this affair from the very start and should be even more explosive offensively this season with Kelvin Benjamin back on the field.
