Carolina Vs Tampa Bay Odds, Betting Trends & TV InfoNoah Williams
The Carolina Panthers will try to stay unbeaten when they visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday at the Raymond James Stadium, at 1 PM ET. The NFL week 4 odds makers have listed the Panthers as 3.5-point favorites over the home-team Bucs. The game kicks off on FOX this Sunday, Oct 4th at 1:00 PM ET. Cord-cutters can stream the game live via Fox Sports Go
Carolina is off to a hot start and at 3-0 for the first time since winning its first five and making the franchise’s lone Super Bowl appearance in 2003. If they can pull out a W this week, the Panthers will be 4-0 entering the team’s Week 5 bye week providing a few impact players valuable healing time.
A Buccaneers victory puts them back at .500 and and right in the thick of the playoff race. Tampa Bay can snap the Panther’s three game win streak, which would give the Bucs a boost after a disappointing showing in Week 3.

Carolina is 3-0 straight up and 2-1 against the spread after beating the New Orleans Saints at home 28-22 last week.
The Panthers offense averages 23.7 points (15th), 216.0 passing yards (26th) and 132.0 rushing yards (6th) per game. QB Cam Newton has thrown 685 yards, 5 TDs & 2 INTs completing 56.6% of his passes. TE Greg Olsen (15 rec, 215 yards, 2 TDs) and WR Ted Ginn Jr. (10 rec, 188 yards, 1 TD) have been Newton’s top targets after the loss of Kelvin Benjamin.
Underwhelming RB Jonathan Stewart (49 rec, 170 yards, 0 TDs) is the top dog in the backfield after DeAngelo Williams signed with the Steelers. However, Newton (31 att, 144 yards, 2 TDs) has been more effective running the football.
“We can throw for 300, but if he runs for a touchdown and converts a couple of third downs with his legs, those are game-changing plays,” Olsen said about Newton.
Carolina’s defense allows 16.0 points (2nd), 239.0 passing yards per game (15th) and 75.7 rushing yards (4th) per game. Thomas Davis leads the Panthers with 25 tackles, Mario Addison has two sacks and Josh Norman has two interceptions.

To bolster their defense, the Panthers traded for stud DE Jared Allen. He came for a reasonable price of a conditional sixth-round pick in 2016. Allen passed a physical and is expected to start in this game. He’ll be reunited with former Bears teammate Charles Tillman, who signed with the Panthers in the offseason and gave his endorsement to acquire Allen.
"He’s a pass rushing specialist and he plays the run very well," coach Ron Rivera said. "He rushes with violence. He doesn’t just sit there and work one way or the other, he’s got counter moves. We watched a lot of tape on him just to make sure that this could potentially be a fit for us."
Tampa Bay is 1-2 straight up and against the spread after losing to the Houston Texas 19-9 last week in an ugly game.
The Buccaneers average 16.3 points (29th), 212.0 passing yards (27th) and 96.0 rushing yards (20th) per game. Rookie QB Jameis Winston has thrown for 678 yards, 4 TDs & 3 INTs, completing 52.2% of his passes.
“He learned something new each week, which rookies do,” Bucs head-coach Lovie Smith said of Winston. “Again, there’s a lot of us that need to play a lot better — of course him included — but we’re going to win a lot of games with him.”
WR Vincent Jackson (9 rec, 145 yards, 1 TD) has been the top target downfield, with WR Louis Murphy (6 rec, 143 yards, 0 TD) chipping. Mike Evans returned last week for his first game of the season to grab seven balls for 101 yards.

RB Doug Martin (46 att, 176 yards, 0 TDs) has showed flashes of what made him a great rookie this season. He has yet to find the end zone as the team has struggled to establish the run consistently.
Tampa Bay gives up 26.7 points (22nd), 210.0 passing yards per game (9th) and 138.0 rushing yards (30th) per game. Lavonte David leads the Bucs with 27 tackles, Jacquies Smith has four sacks and Kwon Alexander has four pass deflections.
