Can Rivers and Bolts Pull Off Road Upset Against Jacksonville in Week 10 AFC Battle?
After having their three-game winning streak snapped the last time out, Philip Rivers and the Los Angeles Chargers are looking for nothing less than an outright upset when they visit the surprising Jacksonville Jaguars for their Week 10 conference clash. The NFL betting line favors the Jags by 3.5-points over the Chargers. The over/under is 41.
If you’re looking to find out whether Rivers and company will get the outright ‘W’ or simply cover the spread, then let’s get to my expert pick on this intriguing matchup.

Why Bet The Chargers
The Chargers had their three-game winning streak snapped in their hard-fought 21-13 road loss against New England in Week 8, but now the Bolts are well-rested and a bit desperate to get back in the win column and give their postseason hopes a big-time boost. The good news for Chargers fans and betting backers is the fact that Los Angeles is playing excellent defense coming into this contest, having not allowed more than 22 points in their last four games while holding explosive Oakland to just 16 points in Week 6 and shutting Denver out in their 21-0 stunner in Week 7. Philip Rivers is in the midst of a very good campaign with 2,028 passing yards, and 13 TD passes against six interceptions.
Why Bet The Jaguars
The Jaguars have won two straight and have been one of the biggest surprises of the season under first-year head coach Doug Marrone. Jacksonville hammered Cincinnati in its 23-7 home win this past weekend while easily covering the spread as a 6-point favorite. Jacksonville has ridden the coattails of powerful rookie running back Leonard Fournette who has rushed for 596 yards and six touchdowns and even mediocre quarterback Blake Bortles is playing respectable football with 10 TD passes and a modest five interceptions. More importantly, the Jags lead the NFL in fewest points allowed per game (14.6 ppg).
Chargers Vs Jaguars Betting Advice
While the Jags are playing solid football right now, I’m going to urge you to go with the minority of 44 percent of public bettors that like the Bolts to get the outright win and ATS cover in this one. The Chargers have been very good defensively in ranking a surprising eighth in points allowed (19.0 ppg) and they have the far better quarterback in this contest even though they’re averaging seven points per game less than Jacksonville this season.
The Chargers have put together a stellar 12-5-1 ATS mark in their last 18 road games and have gone a perfect 6-0 ATS in their last six games against Jacksonville. I know the Jags are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games against their AFC counterparts and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games overall, but I’m expecting the Bolts’ defense to harass Blake Bortles into a couple of costly turnovers in this one to get the upset win to move to 7-0 SU against the Jags in their last seven meetings.
