Rivers and Chargers Look to extend Winning Ways Against Brady and Patriots in Week 8 AFC Clash
Philip Rivers and the Los Angeles Chargers will look to extend their winning ways at the expense of Tom Brady and the New England Patriots whey they travel across the country to face to square off in their week 8 matchup on Sunday. The Week 8 NFL betting line favors the Pats by 8.5-points over the visiting Bolts.
The Pats will host the Bolts live from Gillette Stadium at 1:00 PM ET with this matchup airing on CBS.

Why Bet the Los Angeles Chargers Odds at +8.5
Why bet the Los Angeles Chargers in this Week 8 matchup? The Bolts are winners of three straight and they are playing their best football of the season. Plus they face a Patriots defense that is ranked dead last against the pass!
Rivers and the Bolts have ripped off three straight wins and come into their matchup against New England off an impressive 21-0 shutout win over Denver that I predicted a week ago. While the Chargers are ranked an uninspiring 31st in rushing (79.1 ppg) and a modest 20th in scoring (19.6 ppg), the Bolts are ranked an encouraging eighth in passing (251.3 ypg) behind a quarterback that can still ‘sling it’ with the best of them. Rivers is having a solid season by completing 60.9 percent of his passes for 1,816 yards with 12 touchdowns and five interceptions.
Why Bet the New England Patriots Odds at -8.5
Why bet the Patriots in this one? It’s simple really. The Patriots are playing at home and still have the game’s best quarterback and head coach on their side in Brady and head coach Bill Belichick.
New England has won three straight and put a 23-7 beatdown on Atlanta last weekend, although I’m not sure if that’s because the Patriots played so well or if the Falcons simply quit, although I suspect the latter.
Chargers vs Pats Free Pick
56% of public bettors are going with Brady and the Patriots to hold it down at home and get the 8-point win at the very least, but I just don’t see it happening. First and foremost, Los Angeles is playing solid football on both sides of the ball, but more importantly, the Bolts’ strength, (their passing attack) matches up perfectly against New England’s biggest weakness (their pass defense).
Right now, I don’t see any reason why Rivers and the Chargers won’t at the very least, cover the spread in this contest, seeing as how they’ve gone 12-4-1 ATS in their last 17 road games. I know New England is 14-6-2 ATS in their last 22 home games, but there’s something clearly missing from this year’s team. I’m taking the Bolts and the points to cover the chalk!
Pick: Los Angeles +7.5
