Oakland Raiders vs. Kansas City Chiefs
1:00 PM ET, October 13, 2013
Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, MO
That’s right, the former Eagles coach Andy Reed and ex 49ers QB Alex Smith have come into Kansas City and flipped it all around taking a 2-14 team last season to undefeated in their first 5 weeks this season. The Raiders who are coming off a huge comeback win over the Chargers know that this will be anything but simple, the Chiefs have one of the top ranked defenses in the League this season and they have proved why they are unbeaten. Look for the Raiders to move the ball a little more over the middle looking for the short yardage while still moving the chains.
Oakland has started QB Terrelle Pryor over the last few weeks and it has worked out for them, he has been good in the pocket, not rushing his throws as well as leading the team in yards on the ground. I expect wide out Denarius Moor to come alive in a game like this with quick slants and over the middle 10 yard catches. The Raiders will have to make a big effort on defense as they Chiefs count on a duel running and passing game with all-stars on both sides.
Kansas City knows it has what it takes to continue this great streak; they surprised everyone a few seasons ago and look to build on that experience. the key to this teams has been not only their commanding defense but their poise on offense, protecting QB Alex Smith who has looked impressive this season, completing 108 of his 185 pass attempts for 1202 yards and 7 scores, he has also shown he has the ability to run the ball and get away from the potential sack so I really think they will overcome the Raiders and control the clock to win this game.
What to Expect:
The undefeated Chiefs are 8 point favorites for NFL week 6 betting odds, the Raiders expect to use the momentum from their big comeback last game to help push them in this one but I just don’t think it will be enough. Playing in Kansas City with the fans as they are this season it will not be easy, they will look to take Pryor out of the game mentally and they have shown they can stop the run; the Chiefs take this game at home and improve to 6-0.
