Why Bet The Dallas Cowboys Over The Falcons
The Cowboys are playing their best football of the season right now and ride a three-game winning streak into this contest that includes an impressive 28-17 home win over Kansas City last weekend as 2.5-point home faves. Dak Prescott is now, undeniably one of the best young quarterbacks in the league and is completing 62.9 percent of his passes for 1,818 yards with 16 touchdowns and just four interceptions.
Running back Ezekiel Elliott is also a flat-out star with 783 rushing yards and seven touchdowns, not to mention he keeps dodging his six-game suspension for domestic abuse.
Why Bet The Atlanta Falcons Over The Cowboys
The Falcons are completely and utterly desperate after dropping four of their last five games including Sunday’s heartbreaking 20-17 road loss at Carolina as a 3-point favorite. While Matt Ryan is completing a stellar 65.6 percent of his passes for 2,157 yards with 11 touchdowns, the 2015 league MVP has also struggled by tossing seven costly interceptions. Atlanta is averaging just 21.3 points per game after leading the league in scoring last season by averaging over 33.0 points per contest.
Dallas Cowboys Vs Atlanta Falcons ATS Pick
Even with all of their offensive struggles this season, I like Atlanta’s wide array of weapons – and a ton of desperation – to help them get the home win in this one even though a whopping 64 percent of the betting public likes Dallas to cover the chalk.
The Falcons are the better statistical team defensively and I believe they can still explode on teams offensively, even if they haven’t done it very often this season. I’m not convinced that Dallas is very good defensively even though they’ve held each of their last three opponents to 19 points or less.
While the Cowboys have gone 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in the month of November, the Falcons are a robust 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games against their NFC counterparts while the favorite in this series has gone 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings. I’m going with the Falcons to outright by a touchdown to both, cover the chalk and keep their playoff hopes alive, at least for another week.
