Eagles Vs Jets Betting Line, Pick & TV Info

The Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets finish their 2015 NFL Preseason campaign this Thursday night. The game kicks off at 7:00 PM ET from MetLife Stadium with the Eagles as 5.5-point favorites.

This game would be boring if it wasn’t for the drama surrounding both squads. Both coaches are in the spotlight. Chip Kelly for his off-the-rocker roster moves. Todd Bowles for the lack of leadership in the Jets’ locker room.

Stadium: Metflife Stadium
Odds: Eagles -5.5

Analysis: Despite what many perceived as a series of head-scratching offseason transactions by head coach Chip Kelly, the Philadelphia Eagles have scored at least 36 points in each of their three preseason games to date and are averaging a preseason-best 38.1 points per contest. For this Week 4 preseason scrimmage, Philly will start veteran backup Mark Sanchez while third and fourth stringers Matt Barkley and Tim Tebow also play a bunch.

"We’re just trying to get better every day and improve as a group," Kelly said Monday. "I don’t think people have game planned for us, nor have we game planned for them. I think we’re all trying to get our players to get opportunities on film so you can teach off it."

The New York Jets have looked very solid for new head coach Todd Bowles in averaging 29.0 points per game in winning their last two preseason games after getting held to a paltry three points in their opener. Veteran signal-caller Ryan Fitzpatrick has been as cool as the other side of the pillow. For this contest however, the Jets will start veteran Matt Flynn with veteran Josh Johnson likely following. Last but not least, strong-armed rookie signal-caller Bryce Petty will see some sort of playing time.

While Petty, the former Baylor star has been solid in each of his last two outings, Bowles said he wants to see his team’s other two quarterbacks in this contest.

"As much as (Petty) needs playing time, I need to see those other two guys play, too," said Bowles, in regards to Flynn and Johnson.

The bottom line for this preseason ender is the fact that Philadelphia can score points in bunches and will likely lead the league in scoring if the 2015 preseason has been any indication.

Believe it or not, former Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez will be the best signal-caller on the field in this pairing and New York should struggle a bit as Flynn re-acclimates himself to the NFL after taking just 67 snaps last season as Aaron Rodgers’ backup.

I know the Eagles are just 3-10-1 ATS in their last 14 games in September, but the Jets are a winless 0-4-1 ATS in their last five games in the same month. I say, keep it simple here and back the high-scoring Philadelphia Eagles to get it done and cover the spread with room to spare.

In addition to playing the Birds to bring home the bacon in this Week 4 preseason clash, I also like the Over 44 Total points.

The Over is 4-1 in Philly’s last five road games and 7-2 in their last nine games overall.

I am picking the Eagles to beat the Jets by a score of 30-21.
