Early NFL Week 1 Lines

NFL Week 1 of the 2016 season will kick-off with a Super Bowl rematch on Thursday, September 8. Then on Sunday, 13 games more games will be played, just to leave two-slot Monday Night matchups to close the week one.

Let’s have a look at the NFL Week 1 betting lines:

What: NFL Week 1 – Opening Game
Who: Carolina Panthers at Denver Broncos

Where: Denver, CO
Stadium: Sports Authority Field at Mile High
Spread: PK
Moneyline:
Game Total: 43

This line opened with the Super Bowl champions Broncos as three-point favorites, but it was quickly swallowed. And how can you blame NFL betting enthusiastic if the Broncos don’t have a starting quarterback yet, and lost several key member of their Super Bowl 50 run?

QB Cam Newton and Carolina Panthers will look to spoil the party on opening night.

Pick: Panthers.

What: NFL Week 1
Who: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons

Start Time: 1:00 PM ET
Where: Atlanta, GA
Stadium: Georgia Dome
Spread: Falcons -3
Moneyline:
Game Total: 48
Watch: FOX Sports
Stream: Fox Sports Go
Listen: Tampa Bay vs Atlanta

QB James Winston won both games against the Falcons last season in his rookie year. He should have better control of the situation in his second season, and the chemistry with his receivers can only improve.

Pick: Bucs +3.

What: NFL Week 1
Who: Minnesota Vikings at Tennessee Titans
When: Sunday, September 11, 2016
Start Time: 1:00 PM ET
Where: Nashville, TN
Stadium: Nissan Stadium
Spread: Vikings -3
Moneyline:
Game Total: 43
Watch: FOX Sports
Stream: Fox Sports Go
Listen: Minnesota vs Tennessee

Just like Winston, QB Marcus Mariota should be better in his second year. After trading the number one spot in the draft with the St. Louis Rams, the Titans have an excellent opportunity to improve their team on every line in this draft. Tennessee is 3-0 on opening weekend in the last three seasons.

Pick: Titans +3.

What: NFL Week 1
Who: Cleveland Browns at Philadelphia Eagles
When: Sunday, September 11, 2016
Start Time: 1:00 PM ET
Where: Philadelphia, PA
Stadium: Lincoln Financial Field
Spread: Eagles -7
Moneyline:
Game Total: 45
Watch: CBS
Stream: CBS Sports
Listen: Cleveland vs Philadelphia

Can new head coach Hue Jackson save RGIII’s career and turn around the Browns franchise all at the same time? Cleveland at least will be fun to watch.

Philadelphia is trying to clean the mess Chip Kelly left when he moved to San Francisco. Is it me or seven points seem like a lot?

Pick: Browns +7.

What: NFL Week 1
Who: Cincinnati Bengals at NY Jets
When: Sunday, September 11, 2016

Where: East Rutherford, NJ
Stadium: MetLife Stadium
Spread: Bengals -1
Moneyline:
Game Total: 43
Watch: CBS
Stream: CBS Sports
Listen: Cincinnati vs NY Jets

Both the Jets and the Bengals are potential NFL playoffs teams. However, at this point, only the Bengals know who will be their starting quarterback in week one.

Pick: Bengals -1.

What: NFL Week 1
Who: Oakland Raiders at New Orleans Saints
When: Sunday, September 11, 2016

Where: New Orleans, LA
Stadium: Mercedes-Benz Superdome
Spread: Saints -1.5
Moneyline:
Game Total: 51
Watch: FOX Sports
Stream: Fox Sports Go
Listen: Oakland vs New Orleans

I can’t stress enough the Raiders are only 1.5 points dogs facing the Saints’ power offense in New Orleans. Things have changed in Oakland; the organization found a great young quarterback while the Saints continue to age.

Pick: Raiders +1.5.

What: NFL Week 1
Who: San Diego Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs
When: Sunday, September 11, 2016
Start Time: 1:00 PM ET
Where: Kansas City, MO
Stadium: Arrowhead Stadium
Spread: Chiefs -7.5
Moneyline:
Game Total: 43
Watch: CBS
Stream: CBS Sports
Listen: San Diego vs Kansas City

Over the last two seasons, the Kansas City Chiefs have swept the Chargers both straight-up and against the spread. QB Philip Rivers and the Chargers marriage never developed a winning formula.

Pick: Chiefs -7.5.

Spread: Ravens -3
Moneyline:
Game Total: 44
Watch: CBS
Stream: CBS Sports
Listen: Buffalo vs Baltimore

The Ravens can’t be as bad as last season; they ended up the year as a hospital. Against Buffalo, they will test a Rex Ryan team desperate for early wins that will take them to the playoffs in the Long run.

Pick: Bills +3.

What: NFL Week 1
Who: Chicago Bears at Houston Texans
When: Sunday, September 11, 2016
Start Time: 1:00 PM ET
Where: Houston, TX
Stadium: NRG Stadium
Spread: Texans -5.5
Moneyline:
Game Total: 44.5
Watch: FOX Sports
Stream: Fox Sports Go
Listen: Chicago vs Houston

The Houston Texans paid all that money to Brock Osweiler to win plenty of game. They expect it will start against a Chicago Bears’ team that should show an improved defense in the second season of head coach John Fox. It won’t be as easy for Osweiler as it was in Denver.

Pick: Bears +5.5.

What: NFL Week 1
Who: Green Bay Packers at Jacksonville Jaguars
When: Sunday, September 11, 2016
Start Time: 1:00 PM ET
Where: Jacksonville, FL
Stadium: EverBank Field
Spread: Packers -4.5
Moneyline:
Game Total: 47.5
Watch: FOX Sports
Stream: Fox Sports Go
Listen: Green Bay vs Jacksonville

People can’t sleep on the Jaguars. They have a talented young roster, especially on the offensive side. They added RB Chris Ivory to the backfield during the free agency, plus DE Malik Jackson and CB Price Amukamara to improve the defense.

Pick: Jags +4.5.

What: NFL Week 1
Who: Miami Dolphins at Seattle Seahawks
When: Sunday, September 11, 2016

Stadium: CenturyLink Field
Spread: Seahawks -7.5

Bad spot for head coach Adam Gase to make his debut with the Dolphins. The Seahawks brought back CB Brandon Browner to reunite the entire Legion of Boom that won Super Bowl XLIX.

Pick: Seahawks -7.5.

Who: NY Giants at Dallas Cowboys
When: Sunday, September 11, 2016
Start Time: 4:25 PM ET
Where: Arlington, TX
Stadium: AT&T Stadium
Spread: Cowboys -4
Moneyline:
Game Total: 49
Watch: FOX Sports
Stream: Fox Sports Go
Listen: NY Giants vs Dallas

The Giants had a six-game losing streak to the Cowboys before winning their last matchup. New York won’t have the luxury of playing against Matt Cassel this time.

Pick: Cowboys -4.

What: NFL Week 1
Who: Detroit Lions at Indianapolis Colts
When: Sunday, September 11, 2016
Start Time: 4:25 PM ET
Where: Indianapolis, IN

Game Total: 49.5

In the first game of the Post Megatron Era and facing an Indianapolis Colts that will have QB Andrew Luck back, looks like a bad situation for Detroit.

Where: Glendale, AZ
Stadium: U of Phoenix Stadium
Spread: Patriots -1
Moneyline:
Game Total: 51
Watch: NBC
Stream: NBC Sports Live
Listen: New England vs Arizona

Right away DE Chandler Jones will have a chance to face his ex-teammates in New England. The Patriots are loaded on defense with the addition of defensive tackles Terrance Knighton and Chris Long on defense. WR Nate Washington and Chris Hogan will join an already talented receiving corp.

Pick: Patriots -1.

What: NFL Week 1
Who: Pittsburgh Steelers at Washington
When: Monday, September 12, 2016

Where: Landover, MD
Stadium: FedEx Field
Spread: Steelers -3.5
Moneyline:
Game Total: 51.5
Watch: ESPN
Stream: Watch ESPN
Listen: Pittsburgh vs Washington

It’s unlikely that RB Le’Veon Bell will be ready for the season opener after missing most of the 2015 season with a nasty knee injury. However, the Steelers offense doesn’t need him to leave Washington with a win.

Pick: Steelers -3.

What: NFL Week 1
Who: St. Louis Rams at San Francisco 49ers
When: Monday, September 12, 2016
Start Time: 10:20 PM ET
Where: Santa Clara, CA
Stadium: Levi’s Stadium
Spread: Rams -2
Moneyline:
Game Total: 44.5

Stream: Watch ESPN
Listen: Los Angeles vs San Francisco

Can Chip Kelly make the San Francisco 49ers watchable again? The sort of new LA Rams will test them on a late Monday Night game. The Rams were 4-2 inside their divisional last year; expect this trend to stay on the same path.

Pick: Rams -2.
