NFL Week 3 Expert PicksJosh Bailey
With NFL Week 3 on the horizon and the football betting odds out, I have a trio of must bet expert picks that you can cash in on by this time next week. Let’s get started.
NFL Week 3 Expert Picks
Even in defeat, the revitalized Los Angeles Rams are opening eyes as they get set for their Week 3 road date at San Francisco. Blake Bortles and the Jacksonville Jaguars reverted back to their old ways in Week 2 following their impressive Week 1 victory and now look like they could be in trouble in Week 3.
Last but not least, can the Buffalo Bills hold down the fort in their Week 3 matchup against a Denver Broncos team that looked fantastic in its Week 2 dismantling of Dallas?
If you’re looking for some Week 3 expert NFL picks, then look no further…I’ve got you covered!
L.A. Rams (1-1) at San Francisco (0-2)
When: September 21, 2017 at 8:25 PM ET
Where: Levi’s Stadium
NFL Odds: San Francisco +2.5
Analysis: The Rams played a competitive game in their 27-20 Week 2 loss against Washington despite failing to cover the spread as a 3-point favorite. San Francisco put up a great effort before narrowly falling to Seattle 12-9 in Week 2 while easily covering the spread as a 13.5-point road dog.
For this Week 3 affair, I’m going to advise you to back Jared Goff and a Rams team that has clearly been revitalized by the arrival of new head coach Sean McVay. The Rams are ranked an encouraging fifth in scoring (33.0 ppg) and equally impressive 10th in points allowed (18.0 ppg) while San Francisco is ranked a pitiful 30th in scoring (6.0 ppg) despite ranking an impressive ninth in points allowed (17.5 ppg).
Forget the trends surrounding this NFC West divisional battle as both of these teams are completely new under their first-year head coaches. The Niners may be playing at home, but I’m going to urge you to back the Rams, simply because they’re the only team in this contest with a competent quarterback. If Frisco wants to continue trying to win games with Brian Hoyer under center, well, let’s just say it’s going to take a miracle for that to happen, while suddenly, Jared Goff looks really good by completing 66.7 percent of his passes with two touchdowns and just one interception while throwing for 530 yards through two games.
Expert Pick NFL Week 3: Rams -2.5
Baltimore Ravens at Jacksonville Jaguars
September 24, 2017 at 9:30 PM ET
Where: Wembley Stadium, London
NFL Odds: Baltimore -4
Analysis: Joe Flacco threw a pair of touchdown passes and the Baltimore Ravens forced five turnovers for the second straight game in their 24-10 Week 2 win over Cleveland and now they look like they’re going to spank a Jacksonville Jaguars team that reverted back to its mostly incompetent ways in their 37-16 Week 2 loss to AFC South rival Tennessee.
Enigmatic quarterback Blake Bortles was back to his uninspiring self in completing just 20 of 34 for 223 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions as Jacksonville fell apart in the second half after trailing 6-3 at halftime and now the Jags don’t look like they have any chance whatsoever to beat the Ravens or cover the NFL betting line even as a home underdog. Baltimore may be 2-6 ATS in its last eight road games, but I like Joe Flacco and company to put a dent in those trend by smacking the Jaguars senseless when the battle on the other side of the pond. Besides, the Jaguars have lost nine of their last dozen meetings against the Ravens, making Baltimore the easy pick to win in London.
Expert Pick NFL Week 3: Baltimore -4
Denver Broncos at Buffalo Bills
September 24, 2017 at 1:00 PM ET
Where: New Era Field
NFL Odds: Denver -2.5
Analysis: The Buffalo Bills may have beaten the lowly New York Jets 21-12 in Week 1 and they played well defensively in their 9-3 Week 2 loss against Cam Newton and company, but they’re simply not going to be able to put enough point on the board against a Denver Broncos defense that made the Dallas Cowboys and Ezekiel Elliott look completely ordinary in their statement-making 42-17 blowout on Sunday.
While Buffalo managed to score a grand total of three points this past weekend, Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian is clearly blossoming in his role as starter in Denver, having tossed four TD passes, while running back C.J, Anderson rushed for 118 yards and one score.
Denver has won 16 of its last 23 games and six of its last eight meetings against the Bills while Buffalo has gone 2-4 ATS in its last six home games. Von Miller and the rest of the Broncos stout defense will shut the Bills down en route to the emphatic road win and ATS cover!
