Falcons V Jets Preseason Week 2 Line, Free Pick & TV InfoNoah Williams
The New York Jets will host the Atlanta Falcons for a Week 2 NFL preseason action. The NFL preseason week 2 betting line for this game is a pick, making the spread zero. The game kicks off 7:30 PM ET on Friday, August 21 at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
If the Jets’ continue their never ending downward spiral, you don’t want to bet on them until the spread hits double-digits in your favor. The Falcons, under new head-coach Dan Quinn, look like they are back in playoff form after a couple of underwhelming seasons.
Brandon Marshall is done talking about his support for Geno Smith (possibly at the behest of his head coach) http://t.co/thAhLTXioU

A Closer Look At The Atlanta Falcons at New York Jets NFL Preseason Week 2 Betting Line, My Free Pick & TV Info
The Falcons handled the Titans by a score of 31-24 at home last week. We are all familiar with Atlanta’s air attack. It was refreshing to see a new dimension to their defensive game. The Falcons D forced Titans’ rookie phenom Marcus Mariota into a pair of turnovers (an INT and fumble) in his first two drives. That is speaking volumes as Mariota failed to throw an interception throughout training camp.
“Then for the defense to respond and get the ball on the very next series I was really pleased with that. These are some of the things we had a huge emphasis on, can we run the ball inside? And then defensively can we go after the ball? Getting three takeaways tonight is huge. What I was pleased with was tied 24-24 I was hoping we’d have a chance to show that we’d be able to finish, and that part I was pleased to see” head coach Dan Quinn told the Daily GDP Sports after the game.
Last week was also the debut of rookie linebacker Vic Beasley from Clemson. The 6-3, 246lbs pass rusher’s incredible burst off the snap was revolutionary for this D.
“Yeah welcome to the NFL right?” Quinn said in reference to Beasley. “That LEO spot, that’s the speed, that’s what we want to feature. I can’t wait to go through it with him, show the things we can improve on.”
On offense, QB Matt Ryan ended his only drive perfect, completing all six passes for 86 yards and a TD to Juilo Jones. Backup TY Yates, who took the majority of snaps, went 9-15 for 105 yards, 0 TDs, and 1 INT.
|2014 Offensive Leaders||2014 Defensive Leaders|
|QB Matt Ryan (4694 yds, 28 TDs, 14 INTs)||LB Paul Worrilow (143 tackles)|
|RB Steven Jackson (707 yds, 6 TDs)||CB Kemal Ishmael (4 INTs)|
|WR Julio Jones (1593 yds, 6 TDs)||LB Kroy Biermann (4.5 sacks)|
Good news? The Jets are consistent. The bad news? At being the most dysfunctional franchise in the NFL. First DE Sheldon Richardson arrested, then QB Geno Smith gets KOed by a teammate over $600. Smith will be out for up to 6 weeks. That leaves Ryan Fitzpatrick and newly signed Matt Flynn to compete for the starting gig. Most pundits and analysts have agreed that no Geno may be the best thing for this team right now.
Making things worse, the Jets recorded only 123 total yards against the Lions last week, earning a paltry six first downs in the entire game. Here are the highlights of the epic preseason debacle:
“Guys like Brandon (Marshall) or (Eric) Decker, those guys are a little more friendly to me now,” Fitzpatrick told the NY Daily News . “If I have something in my beard, they’ll hand me a napkin rather than laughing. They’ll get me water if I need it. Life’s a little bit easier in that regard. They’re definitely being nicer to me.”
|New York Jets|
|2014 Offensive Leaders||2014 Defensive Leaders|
|QB Geno Smith (2525 yds, 13 TDs, 13 INTs)||LB David Harris (124 tackles)|
|RB Chris Ivory (821 yds, 6 TDs)||CB Jaiquawn Jarrett (2 INTs)|
|WR Eric Decker (962 yds, 5 TDs)||DT Sheldon Richardson (8.0 sacks)|
