Final 2017 Super Bowl 52 Odds & PicksNoah Williams
Heading into the final week of the 2017 NFL Regular Season, we thought it might be a good idea to check out updated Super Bowl 52 odds. As to be expected the odds on the Patriots have fallen to less than 2 to 1. Are the Patriots that much of a lock? I also add some words about my smart play, and longshot play to win the 2018 Super Bowl.

The Odds-On Super Bowl 52 Betting Favorite: New England Patriots +220
If not for an ill-advised pass by Big Ben in New England’s 27 to 24 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 15, the Patriots might have lost the game. That would mean that New England wouldn’t get home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
The Patriots are the best team in the NFL right now. That doesn’t mean they’ll be the best team in the AFC Playoffs. I don’t believe they will. Too many things can happen from now until the AFC Championship game. For starters, the Patriots might have to battle the Steelers in a rematch. Also, the Baltimore Ravens, one of the Patriots biggest rivals, should get into the playoffs this season.
Finally, I’m not sure how New England’s passing attack will fare against the team with the best passing defense in the NFL, the Jacksonville Jaguars. Accepting short odds on a Super Bowl winner this season makes no sense.
The Smart Pick To Win Super Bowl 52: New Orleans Saints +1050
New Orleans appears to be peaking at the right time. The Saints beat the rival Atlanta Falcons 23 to 13 in Week 16 to easily cover as a -5.5-home favorite. New Orleans didn’t beat the Falcons with their rushing attack. They beat Atlanta with their defense.
The Saints held the Falcons to 67 rushing yards. Atlanta QB Matt Ryan was good for 268 net passing yards. If the Saints can contain good offenses with their defense, it’s hard to see any team beating New Orleans for the Lombardi Trophy.
At the odd, the Saints are a dynamite play to win in the first Sunday in February.
Longshot Pick For Super Bowl 52: Kansas City Chiefs +2000
The Kansas City Chiefs had a mid-season swoon. In the past 3 weeks, though, KC has resembled the squad that rushed out to a 5 and 0 record. The Chiefs should have no trouble winning the AFC West. That gives them home field advantage in the Wildcard Round. The key for KC will be to rush the football and pass it equally well. In the past 3 weeks, that’s happened.
Also, the Chiefs defense has come back to life. KC’s allowed 15 points or less in their last 3 games. KC’s allowed 16 points or less in 5 of their last 6 games. Like New Orleans, the Chiefs could be peaking at the right time.
