Game Total Over/Under Betting Picks NFL Week 3

San Francisco at Kansas City
When: Sunday, Sep. 23 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, MO
TV: FOX
Stream: Fox Sports Go
Game Total: 56½

Analysis: San Francisco’s top linebacker, Reuben Foster, won’t suit up for this Week 3 game due to a suspension. Without Foster, SF should find it difficult to pressure Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

KC’s defense wants to force the pass. They won’t have to try to hard to do that against the 49’ers because SF doesn’t have much of a rushing attack. What San Francisco does have is a solid quarterback in Jimmy Garoppolo.

I’m expecting a quarterback duel with both Mahomes and Garoppolo airing it out. Don’t be surprised if the total in this game eclipses 60.

Week 3 Over/Under Pick: Over

Oakland at Miami
When: Sunday, Sep. 23 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, FL
TV: CBS
Stream: CBS Sports
Game Total: 43½

Analysis: Oakland doesn’t have much of a defense because they felt it necessary to trade LB Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears for a couple of Round 1 draft picks. Even with Mack, the Raiders might have trouble keeping Miami from scoring close to 30 points in this game.

Coach Adam Gase’s offensive system has finally taken root in Miami. The system uses as many running backs as necessary to open up the middle of the field for Gase’s slot receivers. That’s bad news for the Raiders.

Oakland had a terrible time keeping Rams’ slot wide receiver Brandin Cooks from dominating them in Week 1. Gase will call plays to his slot WR all day in this until the Raiders adjust. By then, Oakland might be in catch up mode, which should lead to the total going well over.

Week 3 Over/Under Pick: Over

Chicago at Arizona
When: Sunday, Sep. 23 at 4:25 pm ET
Where: U of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale, AZ
TV: FOX
Stream: Fox Sports Go
Game Total: 37½

Analysis: Arizona’s offensive line should have an unbelievably difficult task keeping the Chicago Bears’ defense from taking over this game. The Bears can pressure any quarterback with its front four.

Because it mustn’t blitz to pressure, when the Bears do blitz, opposing quarterbacks most often end up on their backs, making bad throws, or running for their lives. On offense, Chicago prefers to slow things down, use clock, and rest their defense.

Neither team should reach the 20 points.
