The Indianapolis Colts suffered through a terrible 8 and 8 season in 2015 after making it all the way to the AFC Championship Game the year before. The Colts start what they hope will be a redemption season on August 7.
Green Bay lost WR Jordy Nelson, QB Aaron Rodgers’ favorite target, before the regular season even started in 2015. The Packers managed to make the playoffs even with Nelson on the bench. Green Bay is one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl this year. Their journey starts on Aug. 7 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Why Bet The Indianapolis Colts
Indy wants to start the season off on the right foot and winning at home in the first game (preseason) of the season will be a good start. Does that mean you should bet the Colts to beat the Packers?
Last season was such a downer for the Colts and their fans, that effort is likely to come from every which way when Indianapolis steps onto the field at Fawcett Stadium on Aug. 7. Yes, pre-season games don’t mean anything. But the coaches at Indianapolis know that they have to get their team thinking about winning right away. I think the Colts will play hard.
Why Bet The Green Bay Packers
Green Bay has worked on increasing depth at every talent postion on their roster after losing Nelson in the preseason last year. They’re particularly deep at the QB position where Brett Hundley has the skills to dominate every pre-season game with the likely hood of Aaron Rodgers playing a series or two each week. Is that enough for you to bet the Packers to beat the Colts?
You also have to figure that RB Eddy Lacy and WR Jordy Nelson are going to get more work than usual in a pre-season game so that coach Mike McCarthy can correctly identify where both guys are, Nelson coming off the injury, and Lacy having a weight issue during most of the season in 2015.
NFL Hall of Fame Game Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction
The Packers have gone 5 and 3 straight up in their last 8 NFL Pre-season games. The Colts have gone 1 and 7 straight up in their last 8 pre-season games. With that being written, I like the Colts to win on Aug. 7.
To me, there is more at stake mentally for Indianapolis then there is for Green Bay. Green Bay may have the better overall team, but Indianapolis wants to start winning right away this season after last year’s terrible season. The Colts go out and actually try to win the game while McCarthy and his stuff use the Hall of Fame Game to assess their bench talent. I’m going with Indy.
