How To Bet The 49ers Vs Giants Sunday Night Football SpreadJosh Bailey
San Francisco meets the New York Giants in the Meadowlands for Sunday Night Football this week. San Francisco has been a huge disappointment since starting out the season with a nice 20 to 3 win over Minnesota. The NFL Week 5 Sunday Night Football odds have Giants as 7.5-point favorites at home to beat the struggling 49ers.
The Giants have climbed out of the 0 and 2 hole that they had dug themselves into by beating Buffalo on the road in a stunning 24 to 10 win. The Giants are starting to look like the team to beat in the NFC East since Dallas is suffering through major injury issues, Washington has a young QB in Kirk Cousins and Philadelphia just looks like a bad team. Will the G-Men keep it going?

Why Bet On San Francisco to Beat New York Giants (-6.5)
The Giants D has the 2nd fewest sacks this season with 5.
The San Francisco 49’ers haven’t been able to repeat the Week 1 win over Minnesota because they’ve become the worst passing team in all of football. San Francisco averages only 158.8 passing yards per game.
The 49’ers entire offensive system is based around rushing the football. When the rushing game isn’t going well, the 49’ers only then try to pass. If San Francisco has any hope of beating the Giants at the Meadowlands this Sunday night, they’re going to have to switch up their strategy.
First, the Giants have the best rushing defense in the NFL. Teams are averaging 68.9 yards against the rush. Why would the 49’ers even try to run the ball against the G-Men when the defense is ranked last in the NFL in yards allowed through the air per game at 316.2?
Second, RB Carlos Hyde hasn’t looked good in recent weeks. After Hyde’s 168 yards performance against Minnesota in Week 1, he’s rushed for 43, 51, and 20 yards. San Francisco will be able to throw the ball against the Giants. They just have to commit to doing it.
Why Bet New York Giants (-6.5) to Beat San Francisco
The 49ers have allowed the 3rd-most sacks this season with 14.
Yes, it was Eli’s fault that they lost to Dallas in Week 1. He made a terrible game management mistake. Week 2 wasn’t any better for the offense.
But great players admit their mistakes and move on. Eli has certainly moved on from the first two weeks of the season. He was brilliant against Washington in a 32 to 21 Giants’ win. Eli passed for 279 yards and 2 touchdowns. Washington’s pass defense is ranked in the Top 10.
Eli wasn’t as great versus Buffalo, but what he did was pick and choose. He also only made a single mistake, an interception throw early in the first quarter. Eli will find the going much easier versus the 49’ers this Sunday. The Giants should romp. My final score prediction is New York Giants 30, San Francisco 17.
