Chicago travels to San Diego for Week 9’s NFL Monday Night Football game. Neither Chicago nor San Diego has had a lot to cheer about this season. The NFL week 9 MNF odds favor the Chargers by 4-points to beat the Bears.
Both teams are losing game after game. Both teams have injury issues and both teams will be trying to outdo the other with their offense. Expect a lot of points when the Bears take on the Chargers on Monday night.

Why Bet On Chicago to Beat San Diego (-4.5)
The Bolts are a pass only offense with their best down field target out.
QB Phillip Rivers has been the loan bright spot for the San Diego Chargers this season. Rivers has been close to unstoppable. His numbers are ridiculous. Rivers has thrown for 2,753 yards in 8 games. He’s on pace for 5,506 passing yards this season. Rivers is on pace to throw 36 touchdowns.

But, Rivers is going to have to find some magic against Chicago’s pass defense. First, he’s going to be without San Diego’s best wide receiver in Keenan Allen. Allen lacerated his kidney in the last game and has been declared out for the season. Second, Rivers faces the fourth ranked defense in the NFL against the pass. Chicago allows a total of 214.3 passing yards per game on average. If Chicago is able to contain Rivers and San Diego’s passing attack, the Bears could upset the Chargers.
Why Bet On San Diego (-4.5) to Beat Chicago
Bears rusher Matt Forte is sidelined.
San Diego has lost 5 games in a row. Although Rivers has kept the Chargers in games well into the fourth quarter, the Chargers just don’t have a good enough defense to close out games. San Diego gives up yards on the ground and yards through the air. LB Manti Te’o, S Eric Weddle, DE Corey Liguet, and CBs Brandon Flowers and Patrick Robinson are all questionable for this game.
But Chicago’s offense is really banged up. RB Matt Forte has been declared out for Monday night because of an injured right knee. Rookie Jeremy Langford will take over as the every down back. WR Eddie Royal is listed as doubtful and T Jermon Bushrod is listed as questionable.

Which team wins the war? Not having Forte and Royal is a big problem for QB Jay Cutler. But, not having Bushrod is a huge problem for Cutler. San Diego should win the war even if they don’t win the battle. Expect the Chargers to win straight up but not to cover against the spread. My final score prediction is San Diego 28, Chicago 24.
