How To Bet the Cleveland Vs San Diego Line & TV Info

The NFL week 4 odds have the visiting Cleveland Browns as 7.5-point underdogs when they face the San Diego Super Chargers at Qualcomm Stadium. Both teams have won one game while losing two. The game kicks off on CBS this Sunday, October, 4th. Cord-cutters can stream the game via CBSsports.com.

But San Diego could just as easily be at 2 and 1 instead of 1 and 2, which is why they are more than a touchdown favorite hosting Cleveland in Week 4. San Diego has all of the tools to be a force in the AFC West Division. Cleveland’s defense is playing worse so far this season than it did last season. Which team will turn it around after tough Week 3 losses on Sunday?

Why Bet On Cleveland to Beat San Diego (-8)

McCown is not the answer in Cleveland.

Cleveland’s defense is underperforming. The problem that the defense had versus Oakland in Cleveland’s 20 to 27 loss to the Raiders in Week 3 is that it didn’t stop Oakland’s passing or running game. The Raiders had rushed for 63 yards against Cincinnati. Oakland had rushed for 97 yards against Baltimore. Versus Cleveland, the Raiders rushed for an amazing 155 yards from 30 carries.

Things wouldn’t have been so bad if Cleveland’s defense hadn’t allowed Derek Carr to throw for 314 yards and 2 touchdowns. Cleveland’s defense is much better than it showed against Oakland. Versus Tennessee in Week 2, Cleveland held the Titans to a total of 219 passing yards.

Cleveland is going to give up either the pass or the run on Sunday. What they have to do is settle in and decide which one to give up. Against San Diego, they have to stop the run for sure or Rivers will kill them with the play action.

Why Bet On San Diego (-8) to Beat Cleveland

Will RB Melvin Gordon finally live up to the draft day hype?

San Diego’s offense couldn’t get anything going versus Minnesota’s defense in Week 3. The Chargers’ faced an extremely capable defense in Minnesota. Cleveland’s defense is going to give something up, as I highlighted above, which means that San Diego’s offense should be much more effective this Sunday.

The Chargers should try and establish the run with Melvin Gordon. San Diego will be able to pass against Cleveland’s defense if they need to. But, they can put the game away early if they are able to rush the football. Rookie RB Melvin Gordon should have a breakout game. Gordon hasn’t rushed for 100 yards in a game yet this season. Cleveland allows 158.3 rushing yards per game. That ranks thirty-second in the NFL.

If San Diego can get Gordon going on the ground, they’ll be in control of this from the outset. But, San Diego’s defense isn’t very good. Even though they’ll be in control, the Chargers might not cover until late in the matchup. My final score prediction is San Diego 31, Cleveland 21.
