This week’s Monday night battle should be a good one between 2 teams that play in the NFC East Division. The New York Giants travel down the road to take on rival Philadelphia.
After starting the season 0 and 2, New York picked it up and is now sitting on a 3 and 2 record. The Giants are in first place in the NFC East. Philadelphia started out the season going 1 and 3. They lost to Washington 2 games ago before drubbing New Orleans 39 to 17 last Sunday. Will Philly keep it going in a key matchup for the division crown?

Why Bet On New York Giants to Beat Philadelphia (-4)
About week 6 last year was when Odel Beckham Jr became a household name
The New York Giants’ offense has been as good as possible so far this season. The offense is ranked in the Top 10 overall when averaging 373.6 yards per game. The Giants pass for 282.4 yards. But, the New York Giants only rush for 91.2 yards per game on average. Do the low rushing yards per game average reflect that the Giants are one-dimensional on offense?
Not really. The G-Men take what they can get on offense. Versus Buffalo, who has a great rush defense, Eli Manning continually passed for short yardage or went to the draw. The Giants only acquired 303 total yards of offense but it was effective enough for a 19 to 14 win over the Bills. Versus San Francisco, the Giants had to go to the air because San Francisco was dead set on stopping the rush. Eli responded with 441 passing yards.
It’s likely that Eli will go to the pass early on Monday night. The Eagles only allow 96.8 rushing yards per game. The Eagles give up 279.6 passing yards per game. Even though the Saints only scored 17 points, QB Drew Brees passed for 335 yards. The Eagles will have trouble stopping the Giants’ offense.
Why Bet on Philadelphia (-4) to Beat New York Giants
Last year’s rushing leader is finally back.
That sound that you heard coming out of Philadelphia last Sunday was a collective sigh of relief from every Eagles’ fan in the city. Finally, Philadelphia’s offense clicked in a game this season.
QB Sam Bradford threw for 333 yards and 2 touchdowns. Bradford did throw 2 picks but those happened early in the game. Bradford completed passes to 9 different players. That too is a good sign. RB DeMarco Murray rushed for 83 yards and a TD on 20 carries. RB Ryan Mathews rushed for 73 yards and a TD from 8 carries. Murray caught 7 passes for 35 yards. Mathews caught 5 passes for 44 yards.
Chip Kelly’s system worked to perfection against the Saints. But, now, Kelly’s offense faces a much better defense. The Saints allowed Philly to get their rushing game going. That’s what opened up the passing lanes for Bradford.
It’s not likely that the Giants’ D is going to allow Philadelphia to get the rushing attack going on Monday night. The Giants had trouble containing Philly’s offense last season in 2 losses, but this season the G-Men figure to be more prepared. Expect the Giants to pull off the money line upset. My final score prediction is New York Giants 28, Philadelphia 26.
