How To Bet The Kansas City Chiefs Vs New England Patriots OddsJosh Bailey
The Kansas City Chiefs are on to Foxborough.
In the first game of the AFC Divisional Round playoff, the red-hot Chiefs will face the fresh off a bye-week New England Patriots squad. The game kicks off on CBS this Saturday, January 16th at 4:35 PM ET from Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
The Chiefs defeated the Houston Texans, 30-0, in the wild-card round on Saturday to advance to face the Patriots. It was the Chiefs’ 11th straight victory. The Patriots finished the season 2-4 after beginning 10-0. Injuries to key players such as wide receiver Julian Edelman, linebacker Dont’a Hightower and left tackle Sebastian Vollmer made the end of the season a grind for the Patriots. Will the first round bye be enough time for the Patriots to heal and face the Chiefs who are winners of 11 straight?

Bet The Kansas City Chiefs To Beat The Pats At +4.5 Because…
The Chiefs are unstoppable. Kansas City ended up as a -3 point road favorite over Houston on Jan. 9 in the Wild Card Round. All that KC did was demolish the Texans 30 to 0. Some football analysts don’t believe that KC did as well as they could. That might be true. QB Alex Smith only threw for 190 yards. He threw a TD and a pick. But, Smith has turned into one of the best leaders at the quarterback position in the NFL. He continually changed the play at the line of scrimmage to counter Texan star defender JJ Watts’ impact. The Chiefs rushed for 141 yards from 37 carries. This was against a defense that usually yields 99.8 yards rushing per game.
Bet The New England Patriots To Beat the Chiefs at -4.5 Because…
New England is impossible to beat at home. The Patriots went 7 and 1 straight up at home in the 2015-2016 regular season. The record includes many games where the Patriots had to play without their starting RB, Dion Lewis, and their best WR, Julian Edelman. Lewis won’t be back for this game. Edelman is questionable. The Pat’s defense usually plays tougher at home. Tom Brady will be sharper and no matter how good KC’s defense is, it’s going to be tough to stop TE Rob Gronkowski. The Patriots will be looking for a repeat of last season’s Divisional Round where they beat Baltimore 35 to 31 at home.
Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction
New England could be in some trouble in this matchup. The Patriots yield 98.6 rushing yards per game. That’s not bad. But they give up 240.8 passing yards on average per game. New England looks to beat teams with their offense. The problem with that strategy is that the Patriot’s offense has hit a rut.
New England could only muster 63 rushing yards against the Jets in Week 16. They could pass for only 221 yards. New England lost 20 to 26. In Week 17, with home field throughout the AFC Playoffs on the line, the Patriots lost 10 to 20 to Miami after rushing for 70 yards and passing for 126. The Pats ended up going 2-5-1 in their final 8 games against the spread.
All of those signs point to a KC win. Even if Maclin can’t go, KC has the ability to rush the football and an incredibly skilled and smart QB who will find holes in the New England pass defense. TE Travis Kelce is almost as good as Rob Gronkowski. Expect the upset to occur in the first AFC Divisional game this weekend.
My final score prediction is Kansas City 27, New England 20.
