The annual NFL game in London takes place this Sunday at 9:30 am ET time when the New York Jets battle Miami. Even though Miami is listed as the home team since the game takes place in London, NFL betting odds makers have established the Jets as the favorite.
New York’s defense is what everybody is excited about. But, the defense fell apart against Philadelphia in Week 3. Can the defense bounce back? For Miami, the big question is whether or not the team from South Florida has already given up on the season. Both teams have something to prove in London this Sunday.

Why Bet On New York Jets (-1.5) to Beat Miami
Jets’ D has only allowed 4touchdowns through 3 games this season.
The Jets’ defense imploded versus the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday. A defense that hadn’t given up more than 10 points in its first two games suddenly gave up 24 points in the first half versus Philly. To be fair, the Jets’ defense wasn’t responsible for Darren Sproles’ 89 yard punt return for a TD.

Plus, Jets’ QB Ryan Fitzpatrick threw 3 interceptions in the game. The Jets’ defense actually shut down Philadelphia in the second half. It goes down as a win for the Eagles, but the Jets gave the game away more than the Eagles’ actually won it. The Jets held the Eagles to 231 total yards. If NYJ can do that against Miami, it will be all over for the Fins before the sun rises on the West Coast unless the offense and special teams implode again.
Why Bet On Miami to Beat the New York Jets (-1.5)
From pre-season AFC East favorites to AFC East chumps.
It’s only Week 4 in the NFL and already the Dolphins’ backs are against the wall. After a terrific 17 to 10 win over Washington on the road in Week 1, a lot of enthusiasm could be found in Miami. Unfortunately, the Dolphins followed up that win with a lackluster 20 to 23 road loss to doorstep Jacksonville and a horrible 14 to 41 loss at home against Buffalo.

What’s up with the Dolphins? The problem that Miami has is that even with Ndamukong Suh on the defensive line, they can’t stop the run. Buffalo rushed for 151 yards from 34 carries against the Dolphins’ front line. The Fins are ranked thirty-first in the NFL against the rush. The defense gives up 145 rushing yards per game.
Miami has to be motivated to get a win this Sunday. Even though the Jets, on paper at least, should have no trouble beating Miami, the Dolphins are desperate. Desperation in the NFL can lead to great play. Suh should step it up after reading about what a bust he is in South Florida. My final score prediction is Miami 20, New York Jets 16.
