Pittsburgh travels to San Diego in Week 5 for Monday Night Football. Pittsburgh had the game against Baltimore in their grasps in Week 4. Unfortunately, Josh Scobee couldn’t make a kick.
The Steelers have cut Scobee. They replaced him with Chris Boswell. Hopefully for the Steelers and their fans, Boswell won’t have to kick a game winning field goal in this matchup with San Diego. The Chargers got lucky with their kicker against Cleveland. In a tie game, Chargers’ kicker and former MLS keeper Josh Lambo missed. But, he got a do over because the Browns committed a penalty. Will the Steelers bounce back from a tough loss or will San Diego make it two in a row?

Why Bet On Pittsburgh to Beat San Diego (-3)
Vick has had 11 days to prepare for the Bolts.
Pittsburgh QB Michael Vick didn’t have the best possible game against Baltimore the other day. The Steelers were ultra-conservative since it was Vick’s first game starting for Pitt. Still, Vick should have passed for more yards than the 124 that he put up.
Against the Chargers defense, Vick should be more effective. The Steelers get WR Martavis Bryant back. Bryant can fly. Vick has the arm to throw deep. Not only that, but Le’Veon Bell looked great versus Baltimore when rushing for 129 yards on 22 carries and scoring a TD.

The Chargers’ defense wasn’t very effective against Cleveland’s offense in Week 4. San Diego is allowing 126.8 rushing yards per game. Cleveland rushed for 100 yards off of 21 carries. Cleveland passed for 332 yards. Pittsburgh’s rushing attack should be much more effective than Cleveland’s was on Monday. They’ll score against San Diego’s defense.
Why Bet On San Diego (-3) to Beat Pittsburgh
QB Phillip Rivers gets TE Antonio Gates back.
QB Phillip Rivers has willed the Chargers to both of their wins this season. Versus Detroit, Rivers threw for 402 yards and 2 touchdowns. Versus Cleveland, with his offensive line in shambles and two wide receivers hurt, Rivers found a way to march the Chargers down the field for a victory over the Cleveland Browns.

Rivers gets one of his favorite weapons during his career back on Monday night when Antonio Gates suits up for San Diego after a 4 game suspension. Gates is a future hall of famer. During his career he has 788 catches for 10,014 yards and 99 touchdowns. His per catch average is 12.7 yards. That’s amazing.
Rivers knows that the Patriots’ TE Rob Gronkowski had 5 catches for 94 yards and 3 touchdowns against Pittsburgh’s defense. He’s going to throw to Gates from the very first San Diego offensive series.
Will it be enough? Probably not. Pittsburgh has corrected the issues they had covering the tight end. San Diego doesn’t rush the ball that well. The Steelers are the play. My final score prediction is Pittsburgh 31, San Diego 28.
