Super Bowl 50 will feature the top two seeds from the AFC and NFC facing off for a shot at the Lombardy Trophy.
The 17-1 Carolina Panthers dismantled the Arizona Cardinals, the NFC’s No. 2 seed, in last week’s conference championship. Money has continued to absolutely pour in on them ever since last Sunday, and they’ve moved from 3.5-point favorites to now giving up six points.
On the flip side, the 12-4 Denver Broncos squeaked by the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game. Now, in what every body expects to be Peyton Manning’s last game, do the Broncos have enough juice to beat the fun-loving Panthers?

How To Bet The Super Bowl 50 ATS…
It’s awfully difficult to back Carolina at higher than -3 on the betting line. Carolina has the better offense, but Denver has the better defense. Denver’s ability to control the clock with their rushing attack will be the key in this game. The Panthers haven’t faced a defense that can do as many things as the Broncos can yet this season. Seattle has a good defense, but Seattle’s defense doesn’t often change game plans week to week. That’s not like Denver whose defense is capable of playing a Cover 2, Man to Man, or has multiple blitz packages to throw at Cam Newton and the Panthers’ offense.
How To Bet The Super Bowl 50 Money Line…
Denver is a sweet +175 dog on the money line. The odds on Denver might go up depending on where the spread ends up. If they do, it’s tough to look past the Broncos at the expected odds. The Giants beat New England 17 to 14 in the 2008 Super Bowl. The Giants beat the Patriots 21 to 17 in the 2012 Super Bowl. In both cases, the Giants had the better defense. This game is likely to resemble either one of those Super Bowls instead of a high-scoring affair like what we saw in 2013 when Baltimore beat San Francisco 34 to 31 or like what we saw last season when New England beat Seattle 28 to 24.
How To Bet The Super Bowl 50 Over/Under…
The key for this wager is to consider how much success Carolina’s offense will have against Denver’s defense. Denver isn’t going to score a lot of points. If you like Carolina to cover, you should expect the game to go over the total. If you believe that defense wins championships, you should expect this game to go under the Super Bowl 50 total.
Expert Super Bowl 50 ATS, Money Line and Total Picks
I like Denver’s defense to come up with a solution to stop Cam Newton and Johnathan Stewart from getting the edge. If Denver can force Cam and Stewart into the middle of the field where Denver’s linebackers and safeties can stop the run, Cam will have to go through the air. Denver’s excellent secondary could pick Cam off at that point. This is how I’m going to bet Super Bowl 50:
- ATS: Denver +4.5
- Money Line: Denver +175
- Total: Under 45.5
