Huge Test For The RamsThe Sportsman
The Seahawks are coming off one of their worst showings in a while; they were -10 going into last week’s game against the Cowboys and ended up getting controlled on both sides of the ball and losing the game outright. This game however will give them the chance to get back on the right foot given the recent offensive issues the Rams have shown. Losing their last 3 games and not yet having won at home makes for what I think will be a hard hitting game in which the Rams will do whatever they need to in order to squeeze out a win.
Seattle Seahawks vs. St. Louis Rams
1:00 PM ET, October 19, 2014
Edward Jones Dome, Saint Louis, MO
The Seahawks know that they are the team in the NFL with the big target posted to their backs, every one in the League is set on beating them and the Rams have the ability to do it but it won’t be easy. QB Russell Wilson will need to really show up in this one and expect to get a few bumps and bruises along the way. The interesting matchup here will be Seattle’s grade “A” corner back Richard Sherman defending the Rams wide out Brian Quick.
St. Louis is one of those teams that their record really does not reflect their ability, this is a team with a bunch of new pieces that are trying to learn to play together but they are more than capable of a good scare or a big win over an otherwise dominating team. After learning about Sam Bradford’s torn ACL, backup QB Austin Davis took over the offensive duties, he is 118 of 185 in passing attempts with 1365 yards and 7 touchdowns but their lack of a consistent #1 on offense has hurt them late in games.
It’s no doubt that Vegas along with every other major book have the Seahawks favored by a touchdown and a half, the total is set at 43.5. After looking at past games between the two, it’s clear that Seattle has the advantage, the betting public will more than likely bet this line up to 8 or 9 so my advice is to wait till game day and take the best number you can find on St. Louis, I see them loosing but making a good game outta of it.
