Indianapolis Vs. Houston NFL Week 6 Betting TrendsAndrew Price
After opening the season with two loses, three straight wins have gotten Indianapolis Colts (3-2, 1-1 away) have a chance to take sole possession of the AFC South lead from the Houston Texans (3-2, 2-0 home) as the two teams go head-to-head on Thursday Night Football in Week 6.
The Colts won 20-13 on Sunday over the Baltimore Ravens and QB Andrew Luck and company covered the spread as three points favorites despite the offense turning the ball over four times. Indianapolis is now 4-1 against the spread and is one of the best bets in the AFC.
Quarterback Andrew Luck probably described the win best.
"(Against Baltimore) you expect things not to go as expected. What you do expect is a tough, gritty, down-to-the-wire (game)," Luck said. "We survived our mistakes, in a sense. We made our plays enough to get a win."
That Colts win, and the Houston Texans loss in overtime to the Dallas Cowboys crescendos into Thursday night’s game.

Do The NFL Betting Trends Signify a Texans’ Win?
The Texans dropped both games against the Colts last season. For brigther fortunes this Thursday Houston will have to ride RB Arian Foster, who is having a resurgent season after an injury marred 2013. Foster and Houston are ranked as the 11th best running offense in the NFL averaging 127.0 rushing yards per game, and when facing Indy they will take on the 13th best defense against the run, which allows 101.8 rushing yards every game.
A strong run game by the Texans is needed to shorten the game and to keep Luck, Wayne & Hilton on the bench.
The QB Duel
Andrew Luck leads the NFL in passing yards with 1617 and TDs with 14. Combine that with just six INTs and just six sacks over 5 weeks and the Colts offense is unbeatable.
Luck is undefeated in Thursday Night matchups but he has yet to throw touchdown on TNF.
His previous TNF victories came over the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Tennessee Titans, recording 459 yards, 0 TDs and 1 INT in those games combined.
Andrew Luck has a 12-2 record against the AFC South division, and one of those two losses was against the Texans. He has 3-1 record against Houston and has thrown 9 TDs and 1 INT while posting a 91.6 passer rating against their division rival.
On the opposite side is QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, who has played in four TNF games with a 1-3 record 656 yards combined, 2 TDs and 2 INTs, posting a 72.3 passer rating. Fitzpatrick has faced the Indianapolis Colts five times with four losses and just one win.
Since the Houston Texans appeared in the picture in 2002, the Indianapolis Colts have a major advantage in the head to head matchups winning 20 of the 24 meetings overall.
The first win of the Texans over the Colts was in the 10th game of the series on December 2006, nine games and more than four years after they met for the first time.
In betting terms, Indianapolis is 2-6 ATS in its last eight games when playing on the road against Houston, but the Texans are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games when playing the Colts.
