The Indianapolis Colts are off to another slow start. They have overcome early season adversity before. The current state of affairs are more problematic than last year’s 0-2 start. Winning their first game versus a much improved Tennessee Titans may be a tall order.
The Titans currently are 3-point home underdogs, but the NFL week 4 odds-makers opened the Colts as 5-point favorites. That means the betting public likes is backing Indy. Are they right? Should you bet on Luck to snap out of his funk? Or are the Titans the smart betting pick? Find out answers to those questions and more.

Why Bet On Indianapolis (-3) to Beat Tennessee
Luck can’t keep losing.
It does appear that QB Andrew Luck is going to get some measure of relief in Week 3 after facing two of the top defenses in Week 1 and Week 2 of the 2015 NFL Season. Trying to beat Buffalo in Buffalo and facing a Jets’ defense with both Antonio Cromartie and Darrelle Revis at the corners is not an easy task.

Luck should be able to find holes in the Tennessee defense. What would definitely help Luck is if he can get the rushing attack going. That involves putting together a good performance by the offensive line. The offensive line is the biggest issue for the Colts this season. Khaled Harris is playing his way into the center position. He’s starting, but he plays more like a back-up. The center position is where it all starts along the offensive line.
Indy had to release Gosder Cherilus due to his many injury problems. They moved Jack Mewhort to right tackle from right guard. The offensive line hasn’t come together yet, which is why Luck is struggling. If the offensive line finally does come together in this game, expect the Colts offense to get it going versus Tennessee’s less than stellar defense.
Why Bet On Tennessee to Beat Indianapolis (-3)
Mariota will have a better outing vs the Colts’s soft D.
Marcus Mariota came back down to earth versus the Cleveland Browns in Week 2. Facing a decent Browns defense, Mariota ended up fumbling the football a couple of times. What he didn’t do, and what bodes well for the Colts, is that Mariota didn’t throw a pick. He also performed well enough to throw for 257 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Mariota’s decision making remains impeccable. He’s thrown for 6 TD passes to 0 interceptions. He’s thrown for 466 yards and he’s completing over 64% of his passes. For a rookie quarterback, his QB rating is downright scary at 129. Mariota’s numbers could return to glory this Sunday. Not only does Mariota play at home this week, but he faces a defense that is severely banged up.

The Colts’ could be without LB D’Qwell Jackson, CB Greg Toler, CB Darius Butler, CB Vontae Davis, LB Jonathan Newsome and LB Nate Irving. All are listed as questionable on the depth chart. If Mariota simply takes better care of the football, he could have a field day both passing and running versus a Colts’ D that just doesn’t appear to have what it takes to stop such a fantastic quarterback.
Mariota should be able to do what he wishes against the Colts’ defense while there is no easy fix for the Colts’ offensive line. There’s a good chance Indy ends up at 0 and 3 after this week. Bet the Titans to win big. My final score prediction is Tennessee 35, Indianapolis 20.
