The Washington Redskins are coming off a commanding 31-13 rout over Baltimore in Week 3, but they come into their Week 4 matchup against Jacksonville with their usual brand of organizational dysfunction thanks to the apparently never-ending RG3 saga.

The good news for Washington is that quarterbacks Kirk Cousins and Colt McCoy have both outplayed Washington’s former ‘franchise’ signal-caller throughout the preseason.

Cousins completed 20 of 27 passes for 190 yards with one touchdown and one pick against Baltimore while McCoy was even better in completing 10 of 12 passes for 95 yards with two touchdown tosses.

Jacksonville has lost two straight after winning their preseason opener while not scoring more than 17 points and allowing an identical 22 points in both losses. The Jags fought hard for head coach Gus Bradley in Week 3, but narrowly fell to Detroit 22-17.

Still, with veteran Chad Henne starting this one for the Jags and McCoy getting the call for Washington, I think the right pick here is to back a Redskins team that is trying hard to get their act together before the start of the regular season.

I know the Redskins are just 1-6 ATS in their last seven home games while Jacksonville has gone 3-1-1 ATS in their last five road games, but I believe Washington’s sheer desperation will lead them to victory against a Jaguars team that is still lacking quality talent in the worst way and apparently I’m not alone with 53 percent of the betting public also leaning toward backing Washington.

With Jacksonville going 8-21 ATS in their last 29 games in the month of September, this preseason finale looks closer to a lock than anything else.

I am picking Washington to beat Jacksonville by a score of 27 to 21.
